A Day in the Life

The IT Developer, will work alongside other IT Business Analysts, IT Technologists and in close collaboration with the IT PM and the Business Lead in an Agile project fashion on the implementation and enhancements of our eManuals platform with the main focus on Oracle DB- and Web Development. The web developer needs a combination of front end and back end development skills that enable the creation of complex web applications, In addition to looking nice, our websites need to be functional and secure.
The Sr. IT Developer must be able to actively participate in design workshops and sessions with business reps, BA’s and the IT Technologists, all within the context of the Medtronic’s System Compliance Methodology. Solutions will need to be global and cross-functional. Should have good communication- and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

• Responsible for the successful implementation of Web Development activities. Key partner for the IT PM,
  IT BA and business platform owner and accountable as a team for all project life cycle phases, with emphasis on the creation and testing of the website functionality which is part of the eManuals platform.
• Work in close collaboration with the IT BA, business partners and end-users to assess and understand the business requirements, match these requirements to objectives, processes and products including developing specifications and enhancements that will achieve the business goals.
• Work with technical colleagues to effectively translate the functional specs into technical specifications and solutions.
• This role will be required to do hands on development as well be able to partner with other development teams.
• Maintain documentation, including solution, functional specification, and architectural documents.
• Plan, develop, and implement advanced concepts, techniques, and standards that support the strategic objectives of the eManuals program.
• Provide detailed functional knowledge and maintain insight to current industry best practices and how they can be applied to Medtronic.
• Ensure that Medtronic's systems and the information on them are protected in accordance with Medtronic's Information Protection Policies and Standards, as well as best Information Protection practices.

Required Knowledge and Expertise:

• Bachelor's degree in Web development or related field.
• 5+ years’ experience as an IT Developer
• Proficient in Java, JavaScript /J2EE, React/Angular, Next JS, Spring Framework and Hibernate framework, SQL, HTML and experience with WebLogic and/or Tomcat application server.
• Experience with AWS Cloud hosting and Oracle RDS.
• Experience with Groovy / Grails and other relevant web design coding languages is beneficial.
• Ability to deliver end to end development/deployment of web applications
• Assist with and ensure compliance to Data Governance standards and data policies.
• Ability to write functional- and technical specifications for adding functionality or enhancements.
• Comprehensive understanding of complex software and information technology solutions and ability to apply to client needs.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills in issue resolution and integration aspects like interfaces and cross module transactional data.
• Experience in facilitating small to large groups through challenging discussions
