A Day in the Life
The Senior Enterprise Software Engineer will be a member of the Engineering R&D team working on the software development and support of medical devices. Works closely with other members of the engineering staff to provide technical solutions to engineering problems.Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Lead complex feature development and refactoring efforts.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, security, and best practices.
- Identify and resolve technical debt.
- Mentor and support junior and mid level developers.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Ensure proper unit, integration, and system testing.
- Debug and resolve production issues efficiently.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and release processes.
- Maintain application documentation and technical specifications.
Required knowledge and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 8+ years of professional software development experience, including 5+ years of Android application development.
- Strong expertise in Android SDK and platform internals, with hands on experience building and maintaining complex Android applications.
- Advanced proficiency in Kotlin for Android development, with solid working knowledge of Java.
- Experience developing cross platform mobile applications using Flutter, including Dart fundamentals and Flutter architecture.
- Deep understanding of Android application architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture).
- Proven experience with device connectivity, including:
- Bluetooth / Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
- USB, Wi Fi, or other hardware communication protocols.
- Managing background services, permissions, and connectivity reliability.
- Strong experience with multithreading, coroutines, and asynchronous programming.
- Hands on experience with RESTful APIs, data serialization (JSON), and backend integration.
- Experience with local data storage (Room, SQLite, SharedPreferences) and secure data handling.
- Proficiency in version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Experience with automated testing (unit tests, instrumentation tests, UI tests) and debugging on real devices.
- Ability to lead code reviews, mentor junior developers, and drive engineering best practices.
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to translate product requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working in cross functional teams (product, QA, UX, systems).
