A Day in the Life
The Sales Representative – Cardiac Surgery is responsible for driving sales growth and market development of the Cardiac Surgery product portfolio within the Lombardy region. The role involves building strong relationships with cardiac surgeons, perfusionists, operating room staff, and hospital stakeholders, while providing clinical and technical support to ensure optimal product adoption and customer satisfaction.The territory to cover is Lombardia and the candidate must be based in this region.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Analyses the market in the corresponding region, develops an effective territory/account sales strategy, and presents the strategy to management to gain approval for implementation.
- Performs all activities to maximize sales (in line with the sales strategy) from product introduction and presentation to contract negotiation.
- Identifies and addresses all key decision makers (clinical, administrative/economic) and key opinion leaders in all accounts and reports on them via the provided systems and personally to the Sales Manager on a regular basis.
- Further increases penetration in existing accounts, develops existing accounts into potential new product therapies/patient therapies and develops actual non-buying accounts.
- Builds – together with regional and business manager – strong and lasting business relationships with key opinion leaders and key decision makers influential in the purchasing process.
- Identifies, prepares and executes upcoming tenders.
- Attends, participates and communicates about presentations in key professional congresses and events as required.
- Provides technical support to customers (i.e., physicians, consultants, cardiologists) according to territory guidelines.
- Ensures that consignment and all other stock levels are properly controlled, according to the asset management guidelines and targets.
- In conjunction with regional sales manager, plans sales coverage/resources in the most effective and economical manner.
- Supports clinical activities on requests.
- Trains and educates relevant hospital staff on Medtronic products.
- Using Medtronic resources if necessary, in the most effective way.
- Maintains and acquires constantly new product, technology, market, health care environment, sales tool and process knowledge.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to fill in the market data files providing them all the information needed from the market in the specific region.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Life-science.
- 1-2 years´ experience in sales in the medical device industry.
- Healthcare related experience will be highly valued.
- Fluency in English.
- Travel is required.
- Proactive, well-organized, objective oriented.
- Ability to interact with different stakeholders, both from health professionals and the administration ones.
- Ability to work within a highly motivated team as well as autonomously.
- Flexibility, persistence and resilient.
