A Day in the Life

The Product DNA Program is a cornerstone of our digital transformation, enabling a connected digital thread of product data across the product lifecycle. As the Director - Product DNA Program Leader, you will drive the design, development, and implementation of future business processes, enterprise architecture, and the Windchill PLM system. You will lead a cross-functional team to deliver innovative solutions that transform how we manage product data and drive business value.

This position is on-site, 4+ days/week in Mounds View, MN.

As the Director - Product DNA Program Leader, you will:

  • Start your day by aligning with your cross-functional team—business process owners, architects, and system designers—on key deliverables and priorities.

  • Facilitate workshops with R&D, engineering, IT, and business stakeholders to define and refine future-state business processes and system requirements.

  • Oversee the design and integration of the Windchill PLM system, ensuring alignment with Medtronic’s digital thread strategy.

  • Review program progress, manage risks, and resolve roadblocks to keep the program on track.

  • Present updates and recommendations to executive leadership, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and securing necessary resources.

  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • End your day by reviewing program metrics, preparing for the next phase of implementation, and celebrating team successes.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Engineering preferred).

  • 10+ years of relevant experience developing and supporting PLM systems (including Windchill or similar platforms) across multiple industries and 7+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 of relevant experience developing and supporting PLM systems (including Windchill or similar platforms) across multiple industries and 7+ years of managerial experience

  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale, cross-functional transformation programs.

  • Deep understanding of business process design, enterprise architecture, and digital transformation.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Experience in medical device or other regulated industries.

  • Familiarity with Medtronic’s Product DNA vision and digital thread concepts.

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$194,400.00 - $291,600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico. Base pay is based on numerous factors and may vary by job-related knowledge, skills, experience, etc. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns. Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
