A Day in the Life
The Product and IT teams at Medtronic collaborate to deliver innovative solutions that align with business strategy and drive meaningful outcomes.As a Senior Product Business Analyst, you will act as a key bridge between product, business, and IT teams, ensuring successful delivery of product initiatives. You will translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements, enabling seamless collaboration across stakeholders and driving execution across the product development lifecycle.
You will support product development by aligning business objectives with technology solutions, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and strategic goals in a fast-paced, global environment.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Gather, analyze, and document business and product requirements
- Translate needs into user stories, use cases, and functional specifications
- Ensure requirements are complete, feasible, and aligned with business objectives
- Act as a liaison between product, business, and IT teams
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and alignment
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure solutions align with requirements
- Support design, development, and implementation phases
- Ensure alignment with product roadmap and business goals
- Develop and maintain high-quality documentation including requirement specs and functional designs
- Maintain project artifacts and a single source of truth
- Prioritize features based on business value and urgency
- Manage and groom the product backlog with product owners
- Ensure backlog readiness for development execution
- Define acceptance criteria and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Track defects and ensure resolution before release
- Validate solutions meet business and quality expectations
- Analyze processes to identify improvement opportunities
- Evaluate solutions for effectiveness and efficiency
- Monitor performance metrics and recommend optimizations
- Align product initiatives with business strategy and goals
- Contribute to roadmap planning and data-driven decisions
- Ensure delivery of intended business outcomes
- Operate with high ownership and autonomy
- Mentor junior and mid-level analysts
- Influence decisions through stakeholder engagement and expertise
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or related field
- 7–12 years of experience in business analysis or product-focused roles
- Strong experience in requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder management
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Haves - Experience in product-based or R&D environments
- Exposure to enterprise systems and integration concepts
- Experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence, or similar
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies and performance metrics
- Experience working in global, cross-functional teams
