A Day in the Life
As part of the Invoice-to-Pay (ItP) department within Medtronic’s Global Financial Shared Service Centers, our AP Reconciliations team plays a critical role in ensuring the timely, accurate, and efficient reconciliation of Balance Sheet Accounts related to the Accounts Payable Subledger. Team members are responsible for regularly reviewing, investigating, and resolving open items on Balance Sheet Accounts in line with our internal financial policies.The team also drives process improvements by applying Lean Sigma problem-solving methodologies, identifying and implementing best practices to standardize and streamline reconciliation activities globally. By collaborating across regions, the team helps optimize efficiency and maintain high-quality financial operations.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepares internal and external financial reports
- Maintains or oversees the control of accounts and records in such areas as disbursements, expenses, tax payments and income
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy
- Prepares balance sheet, profit and loss and cash flow statements, prepares and consolidates financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports
- Designs, modifies, installs, and/or maintains accounting systems to ensure an adequate recognition of financial transactions
- Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures and internal controls
- May be responsible for month end close
- May be responsible for technical support and accounting of M&A activities.
- May oversee technical accounting research for complex business transactions and implementation of new accounting standards
Required Knowledge:
- Midlevel education Finance/ Accounting
- 1 - 2 years previous experience in finance/accounting in an international environment; past experience in a Shared Services Centre preferred
- Highly efficient verbal and written communication skills in English
- Work experience with MS Office suite (especially Excel – functions, pivot tables), SAP (desired), and other ERP-s and reporting tools
