A Day in the Life
At Medtronic, you can expect a wide range of tasks in an internationally successful medical technology group with long-term training and development opportunities.Our customers are clinical and non-clinical, and mainly (but not exclusively) within the field of arrhythmology and electrophysiology. They include, Cardiologists, Specialist nurses, Directorate managers and Procurement.
Our products/therapies are used in the treatment of patients suffering mainly from cardiac arrhythmias.
To aid this vision there is a constant focus on developing innovative solutions and a significant investment in R&D, with a strong pipeline of products and solutions coming to market over the coming years.
We offer you a position in which you contribute to the expansion of Medtronic's portfolio in the area of Cardiac Rhythm Management. The CRM sales rep is requested to continue to develop sales with a deep technical and sales preparation to develop customized product & service solutions based on customer needs.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Area sales responsibility for targeted centers in Lombardy area.
- Maintains and develops CRM business with existing and new customers in line with the District Manager guidelines in the defined sales territory while meeting or exceeding financial and non-financial targets, in a way that enhances Medtronic’s reputation in the market.
- Development, coordination and implementation of an individual sales & market development strategy taking into account the respective market conditions
- Analyses the market place, develops an effective territory/account sales strategy and presents the strategy to management to gain approval for implementation.
- Performs all activities to maximize sales (in line with the sales strategy) from product introduction and presentation to contract negotiation
- Identifies and addresses all key decision makers (clinical, administrative /economic) key opinion leaders and key referrals in all accounts and reports on them to the district manager on a regular basis.
- Further develops existing accounts into new therapies and develops entirely new accounts.
- Builds strong and lasting business relationships with key decision makers and those influential in the purchasing process.
- Identifies and prepares upcoming tenders.
- Attends and participates in key professional congresses and events as required.
- Assists physicians with implant procedures when required.
- Provides technical support to customers (i.e., physicians, consultants, cardiologists) according to territory guidelines.
- Providing implant and follow-up support to physicians and nurses of CRM products.
- Ensures that consignment and all other stock levels are properly controlled.
- In conjunction with other members of the team, plans sales coverage/resources in the most effective and economical manner.
- Fosters clinical networks and develops referral structures.
- Supports clinical activities on request.
- Management of trunk stock and inventory of implantable products
- Will give support in post marketing activities, through Customer Relationship Management tools (Lightning Salesforce, MMX).
- Trains and educates relevant hospital staff on Medtronic products, using Medtronic resources in the most effective way.
- Acquires and develops all necessary professional selling skills, in accordance with the company’s personal development program.
- Reports all account, market and competitive information and trends and metrics in a comprehensive, complete and timely fashion.
- Reports immediately and accurately all negative customer or product related events (e.g., customer feedback, product and legal issues and risks etc).
- Plans and prepares sales forecasts by account, product and therapy for the territory along with proposed meetings/customer activities and investments.
- Carries out all administrative duties and all necessary reports in a timely and diligent manner, (i.e. boot stock reports, stock movement forms etc.). Provides regular activity report to district manager. Attends all required regional and national meetings.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Previous experience as a Sales Representative in the healthcare or medical device industry
- Proven track record of sales success in a competitive environment
- Strong technical experience supporting procedures in the operating room
- Solid understanding of hospital dynamics and decision-making processes
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Fluency in English
- Thorough knowledge of the CRM competitive marketplace
- Thorough knowledge of all CRM product lines (CPT, DS & CDS)
- Experience managing strategic or high complexity accounts
