A Day in the Life

The Salesforce IT Technical Architect will support Global Commercial Office (GCO) – EMEA Pricing & Contracting (P&C) initiatives by providing senior technical leadership across critical Salesforce capabilities. This role is responsible for designing and delivering scalable solutions for CPQ implementation, Contract Repository enhancements, Tender Management improvements, and broader Pricing & Contracting enablement initiatives. The position ensures compliant, standardized, and cost-effective delivery while supporting Run & Grow operations aligned with GCO priorities for execution excellence.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • ​Lead architecture design and implementation of Salesforce solutions for EMEA P&C initiatives.
  • Drive CPQ implementation, including complex pricing structures, product configuration, and quote lifecycle management.
  • Architect and enhance Contract Repository solutions ensuring compliance, auditability, and data integrity.
  • Design and implement Tender Management capabilities and other P&C enablement features.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership across Salesforce development, integrations, and data architecture.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and regulatory requirements (EMEA-specific compliance where applicable).
  • Promote platform standardization, scalability, and reuse across EMEA markets.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to translate P&C requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Support Run & Grow model focusing on platform stability, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Mentor development teams and enforce best practices in design, coding, and deployment.
  • Defines, describes, diagrams and documents the role and interaction of the high-level technological and human components that combine to provide cost effective and innovative solutions to meet evolving business needs.
  • Promotes, guides and governs good architectural practice through the application of well-defined, proven technology and human interaction patterns and through architecture mentorship.
  • Supports the full lifecycle management of the entire IT portfolio including the selection, appropriate usage, enhancement and replacement of information technology applications, infrastructure and services.
  • Specialist Career Stream: Typically an individual contributor with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty. Delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals. Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of job area combining breadth and depth, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
  • May have practical knowledge of project management.
  • Extensive experience in Salesforce architecture and enterprise CRM implementations.
  • Strong expertise in Salesforce CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote).
  • Hands-on experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and integrations (REST/SOAP APIs).
  • Proven experience designing large-scale Pricing & Contracting or CRM solutions.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Ability to lead complex technical initiatives across cross-functional and regional teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
    Nice to Haves:
  • Salesforce certifications (Application Architect / System Architect / CPQ Specialist)
  • Experience in Pricing & Contracting domains within EMEA markets
  • Exposure to Tender Management or Bid Management processes
  • Experience working in multi-region/global delivery models
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
