A Day in the Life
Senior AME Engineer will be the core team member in the New Product Development (NPD) project, with focusing on manufacturing (MFG) process development for new product. This role will be responsible for assembly/test process design, process characterization, assembly cost control, BOM control, MFG line/equipment/fixture/gauge development and process validation in MFG site.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. MFG site selection support: to evaluate the MFG site technical capability and standard cost to match the NPD project target.
2. Create process flow chart and process map based on the new product design to identify the key process input and key process output. Ensure all of them are controlled in future production.
3. Accountable for DFM/A document create and discussion to assuring that production processes/equipment are taken into consideration.
4. Accountable for draft PFMEA to identify the production risk to support the MFG line development and update/finalize the PFMEA to support mass-production.
5. Response for production line build and qualification, production line including assembly equipment, tester, fixture, tool and on-line/off-line gauge.
6. Cooperate work with MFG site NPI team to ensure new production line can be successful setup in MFG site and complete SAT.
7. Accountable for process characterization something like use statistic methodology to find the optimized parameter and determine the window of high/low parameter.
8. Response for the test method validation, something like GR&R or type-1..etc.
9. Accountable for process validation activities which include sample size calculation, master validation plan, IQ, OQ, PQ.
10. Continuous improvement and analysis for standard cost in each PDP phase. Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in manufacturing processes.
11. BOM maintenance- to ensure correct components, lifecycle, version for BOM in the system.
12. Production Support and Trouble Shooting - Provide engineering support to manufacturing team. Ensure no negative impact on customer service and minimize downtime.
EXPERIENCE:
BS degree in engineering with minimum 8 years applicable experience, or MS degree in engineering with minimum 5 years applicable experience.
Preferably in regulated industries (i.e. medical device, aeronautics, Automobile).
Solid experience in one or more of the following areas:
· Design and build of Assembling production processes / MFG Line.
· Assembling/testing equipment automation.
· Electronics assembly/test equipment
· Injection molding - Mold design / mold manufacture / injection processes.
· Sheet Metal processes / die design.
· Machining.
· Die casting.
· Metallic materials.
· Six Sigma / Lean production.
