In this exciting role as a Product Support Engineer I, you will provide product support for service and repair activities for Cardiac Ablation Solutions (CAS) multi-product ablation business. The right candidate will possess a mix of technical and project management skills in the support of service and repair strategies for CAS capital equipment portfolio. The candidate must be driven to succeed and willing to invest the time necessary to assist in the development of a world class service organization where service is a competitive advantage to the CAS business.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide process, documentation, tools, equipment, and materials to the global field service organization to allow them to accomplish their work effectively and efficiently.

  • Assist in the update or create procedures, quality documents, service manuals, or other documentation required for field and technical services teams.

  • Support projects aimed at increasing customer uptime and service effectiveness including communication with Medtronic field service and depots worldwide that service Cardiac Ablation Solutions capital equipment.

  • Provide input to the organization on key projects focused on quality improvements, system updates and next generation equipment.

  • Support training to internal field service, technical service, sales and clinical personnel.

  • Work with the global field organization to support service activities in existing markets and expansion into new markets.

  • Manage and priorities service-related issues and escalations from the global field service team.

  • Researches, plans, designs, verifies, validates and develops mechanical and/or electromechanical products and systems, such as metals, instruments, controls, plastics, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, resonance, hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy.

  • Recommends various technology options or approaches for system, processes, facility or program improvements in terms of safety, performance, efficiency or costs.

  • May be responsible for the transfer from R&D to manufacturing.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 0 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cardiac ablation hardware and cardiac mapping systems

  • Experience with service engineering including writing and creating service manuals

  • Ability to work independently with general supervision on larger, moderately complex projects / assignments

  • Experience setting objectives for own job area to meet the objectives of projects and assignments

  • Known contributions to the completion of project milestones

  • Problem solving capabilities to understand broader set of issues

  • Ability to adjust or recommendations to enhance systems and processes to solve problems

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$72,000.00 - $108,000.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns. Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
