Responsible for the project management leadership of multiple projects within Enterprise Architecture, Global Functions & SAP organization. The project manager will lead a variety of different types of projects including large-scale application development, systems integration, operational efficiency improvements, process reengineering and application upgrades and deployments. Accountable for developing finances including project estimates, high level proposals, actual costs, detailed work plans, resource plans, and schedules. Recommend and take action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems. Communicate project status, escalate issues, and manage to scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Lead global programs or multiple concurrent projects across functions and regions, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Manage projects end‑to‑end, from intake and planning through execution, implementation, and closure
- Ensure successful delivery of project outcomes through effective leadership, stakeholder engagement, risk and issue management, and change management
- Monitor and control scope, schedule, cost, and financial performance, escalating issues as appropriate
- Provide guidance and oversight to project teams and governance bodies, including executive‑level stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with Medtronic quality systems, corporate, IT, and information protection policies and standards
- Apply and continuously improve project management methodologies, ensuring adherence to Medtronic’s global IT and development life cycle processes
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or an IT related field
- Fluency in English (minimum C1 level required)
- 7+ years of experience leading IT projects or programs, or 5+ years with an advanced degree
- Proven ability to communicate and present to senior leadership, including facilitating working sessions and steering committee meetings
- Prior hands‑on experience in a technical role (e.g., software development, architecture, systems)
- Proven experience delivering large, complex programs in a multi‑service integrator (SI) environment
- Strong experience in project planning (Microsoft Project), including resource, cost, and budget estimation
- Demonstrated financial management, budget tracking, and reporting experience
- Experience in risk identification and mitigation
- PMP certification
- Experience in the healthcare industry or a highly regulated environment
Nice to Have:
- Experience leading highly technical teams, including engineers and business systems analysts, with demonstrated success building strong stakeholder partnerships
- Strong influencing, negotiation, and executive‑level communication skills
- Solid business and technical acumen across enterprise domains (e.g., SAP, Workday, AI, automations, HR, legal and compliance, M&A/divestitures)
- Proven experience managing enterprise platforms and regulated initiatives, including Workday implementations, integrations, and legal/compliance projects
- SAFe Advanced Scrum Master certification
