A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical and mechanical infrastructure in facilities.
- Installs, operates, monitors and maintains utilities, including HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) setup, maintenance and balancing, WFI (water for injection), purified water and process equipment.
- Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities mechanical components and electrical equipment and systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies.
- Develops, maintains and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools.
- Recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies as required to streamline processes and increase efficiency.
- Assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to control or improve facilities processes.
TECHNICIAN SUPPORT CAREER STREAM: Provides technical support in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement or product development. Uses schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data using established formulae and procedures, and performs detailed mathematical calculations. For higher levels, may suggest and/or make improvements to optimize work processes.

Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Technical degree in Electromechanics, Mechanics, or Electrics
- 3 years of experience in facility and building maintenance.
- Experience in the maintenance of HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems, compressed air, process water, chilled water, including troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance.
- Experience using computer tools, power tools, and measurement systems for equipment troubleshooting.
- Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical and mechanical infrastructure in facilities.
- Experience with industrial water systems, RO systems, DI, reclaimed water, and pumping systems.
- Preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance of equipment and building infrastructure.
- Use of instrumentation and diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), compliance with safety regulations (LOTO, electrical safety, working at heights, etc.).
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Knowledge of Maintenance Procedures and their proper documentation. Operation of electrical monitoring and building management systems
- Management and control of spare parts and tool inventory
- Planning of operational maintenance
- Diagnostics of equipment failures and technical problems
- Contractor support and activity monitoring.
