The work we do supports the Medtronic Mission and it matters.The Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager, IT Services is part of the center-led Indirect Supply Management (ISM) organization responsible for managing and influencing approximately $250M in global IT Services spend. In this strategic leadership role, you will partner with senior stakeholders across Functions, Regions, and Businesses to drive enterprise value through category strategy, supplier partnerships, and commercial excellence.
Reporting to the Global Indirect Supply Management Leader for IT Services, you will combine strategic category leadership with people leadership. You will lead and develop category sourcing professionals while shaping global sourcing strategies, negotiating complex agreements, and ensuring supplier partnerships deliver measurable business outcomes.
As the Sr. Manager, you will serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, influencing decision-making across a highly matrixed organization. Success in this role requires strong executive presence, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate business priorities into sourcing strategies that drive value, mitigate risk, and enable innovation.

As the Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager, IT Services, you will:
Lead the strategy and execution for a global portfolio of approximately $250M in IT Services & IT Consulting spend
Provide people leadership and talent development, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management for sourcing professionals
Establish and drive global category strategies that deliver measurable improvements across cost, quality, innovation, and service levels
Serve as a strategic advisor to senior business and IT leaders, aligning sourcing strategies with enterprise priorities and technology roadmaps
Lead complex, high-value sourcing initiatives and RFx processes, negotiating sophisticated commercial agreements with global service providers
Build and manage executive-level supplier relationships, partnering with the IT Vendor Management Office to ensure performance, accountability, and innovation from strategic suppliers
Influence stakeholders across a highly matrixed global organization to adopt sourcing strategies, governance standards, and supplier management practices
Partner with IT, Legal, Finance, and other functional leaders to structure commercial agreements that balance business needs, risk mitigation, and long-term value creation
Leverage market intelligence and industry trends to identify opportunities for capability expansion, supplier innovation, and competitive advantage
Lead cross-functional problem solving, identify improvement opportunities, and present strategic recommendations to senior leadership
Champion best practices in Indirect Supply Management and promote adoption of sourcing processes, policies, and governance frameworks
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 7 years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management experience, including 5+ years of people leadership or team management experience or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including people leadership experience
Nice to Have
Deep experience in IT Services, IT Outsourcing (ITO), Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), or Professional Services sourcing
Demonstrated success managing people & teams, and influencing senior stakeholders in a global, matrixed organization
Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills
Proven ability to lead complex negotiations and large-scale strategic sourcing initiatives
Experience managing strategic supplier relationships and executive governance models
Experience reviewing and negotiating complex commercial and legal agreements
Strong analytical, financial, and program management capabilities
Experience working in a large global organization with cross-regional sourcing responsibilities
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
