A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Plans, develops, and coordinates in-house product training programs for field support personnel and customers.
  • Obtains information needed to prepare in-house training programs; prepares training materials; develops course content; determines methodology; and coordinates the development of training aids.
  • Ensures training program(s) meets company and customer objectives.
  • Maintains communication with customers to ensure effectiveness of training.
  • May utilize trainers with technical expertise.
  • Continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB (BRIEF SUMMARY)

The Training/Education Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive training programs for internal CRM teams and external physicians. This role serves as a technical matter expert, providing technical and case support to the sales organization while driving continuous improvement in training effectiveness and sales force capability.

MAIN JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Training Program Management & Delivery

  • Serve as course manager to develop, organize, and deliver technical training programs for sales representatives and managers in collaboration with TFMs
  • Facilitate physician training programs at Medtronic Innovation Centers (Chengdu/Shanghai) or clinical centers, coordinating cross-functional collaboration with relevant Business Units for optimal synergy

Training Development & Quality Improvement

  • Design and continuously enhance training processes, procedures, materials, manuals, and training aids to maximize learning effectiveness
  • Implement evaluation mechanisms to assess training impact and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Field Collaboration & Needs Assessment

  • Conduct field visits with sales managers and representatives to identify critical business challenges that can be addressed through targeted training interventions
  • Collaborate with the sales training team on sales development initiatives and capability-building projects

Technical & Case Support

  • Provide ongoing technical guidance and case consultation to sales teams and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Serve as a resource for complex customer situations requiring specialized products or clinical knowledge

JOB QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a medical-related field
  • Minimum three years of experience in medical device sales or sales training
  • Background in cardiac pacing or related allied health professions strongly preferred

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to leverage technology and digital tools to drive business outcomes and enhance training effectiveness
  • Proven planning, organizational, and project management capabilities
  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office software

Required Knowledge and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent with 6+ years of relevant experience in a clinical lab setting, clinical training, field sales/support in medical device, healthcare industry or equivalent experience (OR Associate's Degree with 4+ years experience OR Baccalaureate Degree with 2+ years experience).

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A).
