Medtronic strives to enable earlier diagnosis, better treatment, faster complication-free recovery, and enhanced patient outcomes through less invasive surgical solutions. The Robotic Surgical Technologies Business Unit set the standard for Robotically Assisted Surgery (RAS) by creating innovative surgical products and services that focus on surgical procedures of diseases and conditions.

Located at the Medtronic office in Munich, Germany, you will be working in a hybrid model with at least 3 days per week in the office.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Work in a fast-paced environment with a group of software engineers, software test engineers, system test engineers, project management, field service and other related disciplines to deliver our Surgical Robotics software
  • Develop, deploy and operate infrastructure, tools, and services for our large and continuously growing eco-system
  • Lead and/or participate in cross functional development efforts to build and improve the HUGO RAS system
  • Train and mentor more junior software engineers

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience
  • Proficient in C++ and Python
  • Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting complex systems
  • Deep understanding of Linux, QNX or other OS
  • Deep understanding of Robotic systems
  • Experience in software architecture design
  • Experience leading an engineering team
  • Experience developing software for robotic systems
  • Experience with medical devices
  • Experience in Github copilot or similar AI assisted tool

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
