A Day in the Life

This role sits at the center of daily operations within the Service & Repair (S&R) site, supporting the teams that keep Medtronic devices functioning reliably for hospitals and patients. As a key operational partner, you will help ensure the service center runs smoothly by coordinating purchasing activities, supporting inventory accuracy, reviewing operational reports, and assisting with a variety of site initiatives. Your work helps connect service, manufacturing, and support functions so teams have the information, resources, and coordination they need to perform at their best.

The position offers a dynamic environment where priorities evolve throughout the day and collaboration is constant. You may find yourself welcoming visitors and supporting onboarding activities, helping resolve purchasing or invoice questions, assisting with inventory updates, or preparing reports that help leaders understand operational performance. By staying organized, communicating effectively with shop floor teams, and adapting quickly to new tools and processes, you play an important role in maintaining an efficient, well‑run service center that supports Medtronic’s mission of delivering reliable technology for patient care.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and “face of the plant” for visitors, ensuring a professional and welcoming experience, including scheduling of new hire employee activities.
  • Provide operational support for the service center through indirect purchasing, including resolving purchasing issues and monitoring certain expense budgets.
  • Support inventory transactions and related system updates to support accurate stock levels for service and manufacturing as needed.
  • Help monitoring, interpreting, and acting on reports for service and manufacturing operations, escalating or troubleshooting issues as needed.
  • Partner closely with shop floor teams to support day to day operations and maintain strong communication between production, service, and support functions.
  • Coordinate and execute events for the service center, including planning logistics and communications.
  • Support deployment of initiatives like EHS rollouts, tier management and other activities as needed, helping ensure compliance to standards rollouts.
  • Adapt quickly to new software, tools, and processes to support evolving business needs.
  • Demonstrate strong Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills to prepare presentations, reports, and analytics.
  • Exhibit a professional, approachable demeanor with excellent organizational skills, strong written and oral communication, and a proactive, critical thinking mindset.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Requires minimum of 2 years of relevant experience

Nice to Have:

  • Experience supporting administrative or operational activities within a manufacturing, service center, or plant environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, for preparing reports, presentations, and operational summaries
  • Ability to interpret operational reports or data and translate insights into clear updates for leadership or site teams
  • Experience supporting purchasing, expense tracking, or indirect procurement activities such as purchase orders and vendor coordination
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP for inventory transactions, purchasing, or operational reporting
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requests and shifting priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams including operations, service technicians, and site leadership
  • Experience coordinating meetings, site activities, onboarding events, or internal communications within a business unit
  • Demonstrated initiative and curiosity to learn operational processes and identify ways to improve team efficiency
  • Ability to operate independently while supporting daily site operations and serving as a reliable point of contact for employees and visitors

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$47,200.00 - $70,800.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
