Position Description:

Director, Global Support Functions Compliance and ECO Operations Support

The Ethics & Compliance Office (ECO) serves as the voice of ethics and integrity for our Company, making sure it is always top-of-mind with employees and providing counsel when needed.

The ECO Operations Team provides cross-functional support and uses a collaborative “one team” approach. Each team member has core responsibilities but is expected to assume additional developmental opportunities consistent with their experience and skills which enables individual development, personal growth and overall effective support by the Operations Team.

The Director position will report to the Associate Vice President, ECO Operations & Innovative Solutions and will be responsible for providing compliance support to Global Support Functions (GSF) including Human Resources, IT, Finance, and Procurement and lead high priority operational initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Partner with and provide ongoing status updates to GSF leadership in support of Corporate Compliance Goals

  • Provide GSF guidance, policy interpretations and/or triage to subject matter experts

  • Conduct reviews of GSF Employee COI submissions, and support development of client area mitigation actions

  • Support Talent Acquisition Team on candidate COI evaluations

  • Manage COI operational processes and reporting, including oversight of implementation of ongoing COI system enhancements in partnership with ECO Policy Governance lead and HR Operations; manage system translations

  • Manage and ensure appropriate and timely preparation of ECO Audit Committee Report submissions; lead efforts to evolve report content and related process

  • Drive integrated approach for successful execution of cross-functional projects by ensuring effective stakeholder management and communications, business alignment, and provide guidance/direction to project team to improve execution

  • Manage and ensure appropriate and timely preparation of ECO required information and certifications in response to requests by the Environmental Social Governance Strategy and Engagement Team

  • In collaboration with other ECO and business stakeholders, lead and oversee of continuous improvements of ECO owned websites, community pages, and SharePoint sites

  • Manage ECO quarterly townhalls

  • Lead ECO Operations priority special projects as assigned

  • Provide continuous leadership, coaching, development and career guidance to direct report(s)


  • We offer a Hybrid setup {combination of an in-office (3 days) & remote/offsite (2 days)} This position cannot be 100% remote.

  • This role is based at our Headquarters site in Rahway (NJ, USA) or from our PA sites in WestPoint or Upper Gwynedd, with travel to NJ site on as need basis.

  • Travel: Yes, 5-10 % of the Time

Position Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • BS/BA degree

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in a Compliance, Legal or Multi-national bio–Pharma Operations role with managerial/leadership experience

  • Ability to engage with divisional and functional leaders on strategy, goals, and outcomes, and make sound business decisions

  • Strong understanding of requirements for implementing (elements of) an effective Compliance program for a large, complex, matrixed organization

  • Strong collaborator with proven track record in leading cross functional teams

  • Independent achiever with proven judgment skills in handling balanced, complex issues

  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills

  • Proven people management skills and advanced ability to partner, collaborate, and impact decisions at all levels within and outside the global compliance organization and with cross-divisional subject matter experts

  • Ability to encourage, motivate, and guide individuals and teams

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Proven experience driving innovation and change management

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Problem solver with a strong desire to take on new challenges and drive results

  • Works with a sense of urgency, efficiency, and has a strong attention to detail

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Legal and/or Compliance experience preferred.
