2025, DPTM Operations Associate Director, West Point

The Discovery Preclinical and Translational Medicine Operations team works to strengthen operations through innovation and leveraging best practices to realize efficiencies across the various functional groups. The team drives various initiatives and ensures Site Operations, Sourcing, LAMP program and equipment onboarding is executed in alignment with R&D space planning goals and global corporate engineering and safety standards, manages Capital equipment life-cycle replacement, GXP compliance of specialized laboratory equipment and facility systems and manages and reports environmental monitoring compliance and point of use water quality program management. Additionally, the Operations team is the liaison to our internal and external partners in Finance, Procurement, Compliance, and Integrated Facilities Management teams to ensure compliance, business continuity and be the valued partner on behalf of the research teams to accelerate our pipeline and deliver life-changing products for unmet medical needs world-wide.

The Associate Director at West Point will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the daily operations to support our science team partners. This position requires a dynamic leader who can effectively coordinate and optimize processes to ensure the highest standards of efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage within the Operations team, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities. Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance departmental performance and achieve organizational goals, demonstrate the ability to shift one’s mind-set to quickly adapt global strategies for local implementation.

Monitor and analyze operational metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with cross-functional sites and global partners to support the functional groups within the organization.

Ensure compliance with all relevant GXP regulations, local policies, and site procedures.

Manage budgets and resources effectively to maximize operational efficiency and identify key business opportunities. Demonstrates the ability to develop plans that align with our company's long-term strategy

Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the department. Demonstrates ability to deliver effective and influential presentations, ability to mentor others and demonstrate the ability to listen to others and integrate alternative points of view in decisions and ideas

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred.

Proven experience in operations management, preferably within a similar industry.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards.

Candidates should have a minimum of 5-10 years in Laboratory Operations, currently be enrolled in a minimum of a BS/BA in: Life Sciences, Business operations, Engineering, or related disciplines with 3-5 years of experience, M.S 1-3 years.

Preferred:

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, analytical mindset.

Proficiency in coordination and leading small group projects.

General understanding of Regulatory compliance expectations, SDLC and validation.

Business acumen and life-cycle equipment management, iCAM asset onboarding.

Metrics gathering with the ability to prepare performance reports and analytics

Familiarity with scientific laboratory equipment, preferred.

Experience with Lean six sigma methodology to solve problems.

Experience with Power Apps - Business analytics.


Required:

In-person, 3-5 days per week and on-site at West Point campus.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The salary range for this role is

$126,500.00 - $199,100.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
