Position Overview - Basic Functions & Responsibility

The Global Clinical Supply (GCS) organization is within our Research and Development division and is accountable for managing the 'end-to-end' integrated clinical supply chain across our Research & Development division portfolio to enable the execution of any clinical trial using our company's asset. GCS supports more than 300 Phase I-IV clinical trials run in-house, 400+ outsourced or run by partners as well as our company's ISS clinical trials (300+). GCS is accountable for the planning, sourcing, labeling, packaging and delivery of clinical supplies to clinical sites across more than 60+ countries, all in accordance with US and WW regulations, company policies and Standard Operating Procedures.

The Associate Director, Business Insights and Analytics (BI&A), is responsible for

• Developing the GCS strategy for business insights and analytics

• Setting appropriate business measures with key stakeholders to drive GCS performance

• Delivering tools and solutions for digital visualizations of KPIs

The Associate Director, BI&A, will:

• Execute solutions to business needs by designing and implementing new data management systems

• Employ innovation and technology solutions to manage data warehousing more effectively

• Automate reporting and visualizations efficiently

• Work strategically and tactically to streamline processes and eliminate manual work in current reporting processes

• Focus on reports to increase business efficiency and metrics as KPIs, contributing to the overall performance within GCS

This role will also be responsible for upskilling GCS in the applications used for reporting. The Associate Director, BI&A will help in driving the strategic performance of the overall GCS organization through visualization of key business insights via data analytics. This role will contribute to the advancement of the GCS Data Strategy and Strategic Roadmap, supporting the organization’s transition toward future-ready systems and modern data architectures.

Primary Activities

  • Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using enterprise systems (Qlik Sense, Power BI ThoughtSpot).
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into BI platforms.
  • Support Microsoft Power Platform integration by developing solutions (Power Apps, and Power Automate) to enhance business processes.
  • Work with data architects to ensure scalable and efficient data models and pipelines.
  • Use GitHub for version control of scripts, data models, and BI artifacts to ensure collaboration and code quality.
  • Experience leveraging Databricks for big data processing, advanced analytics, or machine learning workflows, as needed.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver actionable insights.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security across all BI solutions.
  • Document processes, data models, and solutions; provide training to end-users during tool transitions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years in BI development, data analysis, or a related role.
  • Proficiency with BI Tools (Qlik Sense, Power BI, ThoughtSpot is a plus).
  • Strong expertise in writing and optimizing SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.
  • Familiarity with Power Apps, and/or Power Automate is preferred, with a willingness to upskill.
  • Experience with GitHub or similar platforms for version control and collaboration.
  • Understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Education and Skills

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The salary range for this role is

$126,500.00 - $199,100.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
