Job Description
Our Global Market Access (GMAx) organization is driven by a passion to save and improve lives by ensuring sustainable access to our medicines and vaccines at a price reflective of their value. We work collaboratively across the enterprise, and with regional and local market teams, to deliver the development and implementation of integrated access strategies, excellence in pricing strategy and execution, and shaping of the external access landscape. We drive sustainable patient access through innovation in patient access models and solutions.
In an increasingly restrictive and complex pricing and reimbursement environment, delivering true value for all stakeholders is essential to sustain commercial viability and maximize opportunities across the portfolio and across geographies.
The Executive Director, Global Pricing Strategy & Policy, reporting to Vice President, Global Pricing, will lead the development and implementation of enterprise pricing strategies and solutions to optimize value, with a focus on US and key global markets, while providing a scalable framework for worldwide application. In this pivotal role, you will lead the company’s interpretation and actions in response to the evolving external access and pricing environment, partner with Pricing Operations and Finance to conduct impact analyses, and positively influence and shape company positions aligned with our company's commitment to patient access globally.
Key Responsibilities:
Enterprise Pricing Strategy: Create and implement our company's enterprise pricing approach and philosophy aligned to our company ethos and in response to the evolving external landscape. Develop pan-portfolio pricing principles and strategies, including identifying innovative pricing models, and create best practices for executional excellence to optimize value recognition by stakeholders.
Policy Monitoring & Impact Evaluation: Continuously monitor evolving global pricing and reimbursement policies (e.g., Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), Most Favored Nation (MFN), international reference pricing, transparency laws, EU HTA/JCA, etc) and evaluate their impact on access, pricing, and disease area strategies. Collaborate with U.S. and other regional teams to align on policy and legislative risks that could impact lifecycle management and pricing corridors.
Value Engagement & Policy Positioning: Lead value engagement initiatives by developing and articulating our company's positions on pricing policies that are aligned with the company’s pricing principles and corporate ethos, ensuring that pricing strategies reflect our company's commitment to delivering sustainable value to patients, payers, and other stakeholders.
Data-Driven Insights: Partner with Pricing Operations to develop and design advanced pricing dashboards and analytical models tailored to the evolving US and global reimbursement environment, providing executive-level insights for in-line and pipeline assets. Develop and apply advanced analytics models, including price elasticity, scenario modeling, and value-based pricing strategies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Team Leadership: Work closely with Global Pricing, Market Access, Government Affairs, Legal, Regulatory, Finance, and Commercial teams to ensure pricing policies are consistent, competitive, and aligned with our company's principles. Active member of Global Pricing Leadership Team focused on setting the direction and vision for the function. Potential to build and lead a dedicated, high-performing team in the future.
Benchmarking & Market Intelligence: Benchmark pricing strategies across therapeutic areas and geographies; track payer behavior, formulary decisions, and HTA outcomes to inform pricing tactics.
