Lead Maintenance Technician, Reliability

Job Description

This Reliability Lead Maintenance Technician position will concentrate on installation, modification, troubleshooting, removal, and repairs of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical equipment and machinery. In addition, provide support field work with vibration, lubrication, alignment, motor circuit analysis, thermography, ultra sonic, and data trend analysis. Train maintenance resources on principles and technologies. Execute routine reliability programs. Collect and document equipment states to support performance tracking and prioritization. Populate asset cost tracking for capital investment tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance functions audit PMs and task lists, giving feedback on improvement ideas and ensuring all parts list are accurate.

  • Ensure all information is entered into SAP to track utilization and feedback is given on all work completed during shift.

  • Coordinate and prioritize assigned daily workload.

  • Ensure major issues are recorded and conveyed to Maintenance Specialist/Management

  • Ensure issues and temporary repairs are escalated to Maintenance Specialist/Management to ensure plans to fully resolved are in process.

  • Support team with positive motivation and team engagement.

  • Suggest and work on continuous improvement initiatives to achieve zero losses due to equipment failures and technical issues.

  • Participate in RCA on equipment and process failures to provide insight to failure and suggest corrective actions.

  • Give feedback to Maintenance Specialist on scheduled work to ensure work is completed.

  • Communicate effectively on shift and to the Maintenance team to ensure any assistance requests are filled.

  • Assist with completion of team workload as scheduled.

  • Support field work with vibration, lubrication, alignment, motor circuit analysis, thermography, ultra sonic, and data trend analysis.

  • Support start-up, PM, repair, and routine interface to drive zero unplanned downtime.

  • Train Maintenance resources on principles and technologies

  • Execute routine reliability programs (lubrication, vibration, thermography, oil analysis).

  • Collect and document equipment states to support performance tracking and prioritization.

  • Populate asset cost tracking for capital investment tools.

  • Conduct other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with five (5)+ years of relevant experience OR

  • Associate's degree in technical discipline such as Industrial Maintenance Technology with three (3)+ years of relevant experience OR

  • Bachelor's degree in technical/engineering discipline with two (2)+ years of relevant experience

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of five years mechanical experience around machinery and/or manufacturing equipment
  • Must have City Omaha third-grade boiler license or obtain on 2nd year
  • Have experience and troubleshoot Chiller and HVAC

  • Have experience with refrigerant software or obtain refrigerant certification on 2nd year.

  • Possess a fundamental comprehension of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings to solve problems in a timely manner at the component level on all manufacturing equipment.

  • Ability to troubleshoot AC/DC Electrical components (up to 480VAC 3 Phase) including motor starters, switches and sensors found on manufacturing equipment using basic test equipment such as multi-meters and amp probes.

  • Ability to follow and troubleshoot ladder logic program (PLC)

  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to work with hand tools, power tools, machine tools, and test instruments

  • Knowledge of plant operations and systems (e.g., heating, cooling, ventilation, electrical, gas, building utility, manufacturing equipment, etc.)

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve problems and make decisions while working in manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including the ability to comprehend equipment instruction/service manuals and drawings.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with a variety of customers (Production, Vendors, and Management)

  • Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, and the ability to learn how to effectively use SAP maintenance software to input data, research parts and analyze repair history details.

  • Exposure to extreme temperatures, outside weather in all conditions, high noise environments, work areas near moving mechanical parts and any chemicals used in production process.

Shift and Hours:

  • M-F 7:00AM-3:30PM, may require staying past scheduled shift to complete repair/project as need, and work rotating weekend.
