The successful candidate will join the Human Health Ethics and Compliance team, helping to advance the goal of the Ethics and Compliance Organization (ECO) to be a “partner in doing the right thing – all the time.” The Commercial Compliance Officer (CCO) will join the Commercial Compliance Team and will be responsible for compliance support for one or more functions within the Human Health (HH) business and/or therapeutic areas. The CCO will proactively support client teams in the effective execution of business practices by partnering with them in creating policies and providing relevant consultation regarding said policies, promoting compliant behaviors, raising issues, and supporting corrective action.

Examples of responsibilities and duties of the position include for assigned function(s) within HH-Business:

  • Provide compliance counsel for HH Business Units that engage in the development of digital capabilities, as well as the acquisition and use of third-party data, digital analytics, and digital capabilities. Responsibilities will require a functional understanding of, and experience with, establishing data governance guidance and providing compliance counsel on the ethical use of artificial intelligence capabilities.
  • Execute AI risk assessments and establish appropriate risk mitigation controls and oversight processes.
  • Provide compliance counsel for the development of internal capabilities used to support the marketing, sales, and operations functions within HH, to ensure compliant execution.
  • Develop policies and/or guidance documents in support of new capabilities, processes, and tools.
  • Close coordination with the Global Privacy Office.
  • Member of relevant HH business function leadership teams
  • Oversight and Monitoring planning and support
  • Where applicable, lead senior management certification processes and maintain a communications tracker
  • For assigned therapeutic areas:
  • End-to-end compliance support to Marketing and Sales personnel (US Market and Global Marketing)
  • Member of Franchise Marketing and Sales teams
  • Product Compliance Assessment lead
  • Launch support
  • Oversight and Monitoring planning and support
  • Management Certifications and Communications Tracker
  • Audit Support
  • Drafting/Revision/Simplification of HH Ethics and Compliance Policies
  • Business Leadership Team support as assigned
  • Cross-functional team support assigned

Understanding the business needs, strategic objectives, and operational practices of the client organizations (Digital Human Health, and Analytics; Commercial Excellence and Innovation; US-Marketing and Sales teams; relevant HH Business Functions)

  • Having – and being recognized for having – deep subject matter expertise in the relevant guidance, policies, codes, and regulations, as well as in their applications to the business
  • Applying this expertise in advising and counseling clients on new issues, answering routine questions regarding policy, and assisting in the assessment and implementation of new activities
  • Maintaining full line-of-sight (from strategic intent through tactical execution) when supporting line management in the development of new or refined guidance to ensure that they are relevant, appropriate, and implementable. Steps include gathering input, authoring, circulating drafts, gaining necessary approvals, developing communications plans, and integrating the guidance into new or existing training.
  • Developing strong working relationships with key stakeholders in the client organizations, business partner areas, and throughout ECO.
  • Utilizing brand knowledge, reviewing materials as part of the Promotional Review Team

Required Experience and Skills:

  • BA/BS required; advanced degree in digital transformation, data science, business, marketing, law, or public policy preferred
  • High degree of ethics and integrity
  • 10+ years business experience (5+ years pharmaceutical industry preferred)

The salary range for this role is

$173,200.00 - $272,600.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
