THE ROLE

This Co-op experience provides participants with a meaningful, relevant work experience as part of their academic studies. In addition to daily responsibilities, participants will have the opportunity to participate in a series of structured activities designed to enhance their learning experience including:

At the conclusion of this position, co-ops will have increased their knowledge of investing, the mutual fund industry, employee engagement, and a firm understanding of how marketing works at an asset manager.

MFS co-op positions are a 6-month commitment, working Monday – Friday (July 7th through December 18th, 2026), and work between 35-40 hours. Our program is designed for undergraduate students who are currently enrolled in a co-op program through their college or university and can meet our requirements.

Job Summary

The RFP co-op will draft responses to Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) to help maintain client relationships and peak interest in prospective clients. During this process, the co-op will gain an understanding of the investment management industry and MFS strategies, collaborate with a variety of teams across the firm (including but not limited to Product, Compliance and Sales teams), and will also utilize systems such as Microsoft Excel, Salesforce, and other MFS proprietary systems to pull investment-related data. In addition, the co-op will assist with the team’s strategic projects and will help update and maintain the team’s content management database. Finally, the co-op is also responsible for providing assistance during the final stages of the RFP process by preparing mailings and submissions.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Complete sample RFPs, and due diligence questionnaires (DDQs) for MFS’ clients or prospective clients by communicating firm and investment strategy language and data.

  • Collaborate with various teams across the firm to create new language and validate responses to Sample RFPs & DDQs.

  • Help with strategic initiatives for the team, which can include creating, updating and consolidating resource documents.

  • Assist in updating and maintaining the RFP content management system by collecting data for periodic updates and running & analyzing reports to aid in content improvement.

  • Participate in team meetings and record job progress in Salesforce as needed.

  • Assist with the preparation and presentation of final RFP submissions. This includes printing, collating, binding, packaging and shipping documents to one or more recipients.

  • Assists the broader team with various ad hoc projects as needed in support of the RFP process, which may include reconciling information in databases, formatting documents, preparing appendix documents, and other projects as they arise.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Must have good communication and organizational skills.

  • Must be a quick learner with an interest in gaining exposure to the inner workings of investment management.

  • Must be detail oriented, a team player and possess a strong work ethic.

  • Must have the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel & Teams) and Salesforce a plus.
