As a Critical Environment Electrical Engineer you will support the design, implementation, and operation of mission-critical systems, ensuring reliability, safety, and operational excellence across all electrical infrastructure. You will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for critical electrical infrastructure within data center environments.

As a CO+I Electrical Engineer, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Responsibilities
Critical Electrical Systems Expertise
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for high-voltage, medium-voltage, and low-voltage electrical distribution systems, including substations and backup power systems.
- Support the design, operation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of mission-critical, redundant electrical systems.
- Conduct root cause analysis and support failure investigations to improve system reliability.
- Ensure adherence to electrical safety standards, compliance requirements, and operational best practices.
- Support maintenance strategies, risk mitigation, and reliability initiatives across critical electrical infrastructure.
- Support the transition of new data center facilities and electrical systems into live operations, ensuring operational readiness.Develop, review, and execute testing, commissioning, and verification plans for electrical infrastructure.Identify and escalate risks, issues, or dependencies that may impact project delivery or operational stability.Contribute to the development of monitoring, testing, and reporting solutions to enhance system performance and visibility.Participate in project implementation activities, including tracking progress against defined plans and supporting execution under guidance from senior engineers.
Technical Project Implementation
- Support the transition of new data center facilities and electrical systems into live operations, ensuring operational readiness.
- Develop, review, and execute testing, commissioning, and verification plans for electrical infrastructure.
- Identify and escalate risks, issues, or dependencies that may impact project delivery or operational stability.
- Contribute to the development of monitoring, testing, and reporting solutions to enhance system performance and visibility.
- Participate in project implementation activities, including tracking progress against defined plans and supporting execution under guidance from senior engineers.
- Review and approve operational procedures, including Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Methods of Procedure (MOPs).
- Maintain accurate documentation related to systems, components, and operational processes.
- Contribute to audits, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, and efficiency.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field AND technical engineering experience
- S1 electrical qualification is required
- You will be required to travel between sites as part of this role so a valid driver’s license will be required.

Background Check Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Experience working with critical electrical environments, including high availability and mission-critical power systems
Electrical Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across Finland is € 56,600.00 - € 84,800.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
