We are hiring a Director of Content Experience for Skilling Events to bring content together as a cohesive, end-to-end experience across our events, from initial narrative through live execution and beyond. You will work across Global Skilling and Microsoft Commercial Business partners to shape how content comes together into clear, intentional experiences that drive learning and action. This role works across content, production, and marketing, ensuring alignment, quality, and impact across every moment of the event.

Responsibilities
Experience Design & Content Strategy Leadership
- Own the end-to-end content narrative and experience for each event, defining a clear throughline that drives understanding, engagement, and action
- Shape the overall content strategy, aligning event experiences to business priorities, audience needs, and targeted skill outcomes
- Lead audience segmentation and experience design, ensuring content is relevant, contextual, and tailored to distinct learner groups
- Establish and uphold standards for session design, content quality, and experience consistency across all contributing teams
- Bring together content from multiple stakeholders into a unified, intentional experience with a clear structure and progression
- Partner with production to design formats, flow, and run of show that translate content into engaging live and digital experiences
- Enable speakers and program owners with frameworks, tools, and guidance that elevate content quality and consistency at scale
- Extend event content beyond the live moment by shaping how it is reused and integrated into ongoing skilling experiences
Data & Insights
- Define success metrics for the content experience, including engagement, learning effectiveness, and behavior change outcomes
- Partner with data and insights teams to capture and interpret signals across the event experience
- Use insights to evaluate performance, identify gaps, and continuously improve content strategy and experience design
- Translate data into clear, actionable recommendations that inform future events and content decisions
Operational Excellence
- Design and lead scalable operating models for content across events, including intake, planning, and cross-team coordination
- Establish clear processes, roles, and decision frameworks to enable effective collaboration across content, production, and marketing
- Drive disciplined execution across content planning, development, and delivery
- Manage complexity across stakeholders and timelines while maintaining quality and experience integrity
- Identify and resolve risks, gaps, and misalignment that impact content delivery
- Build repeatable frameworks and tools that streamline contribution and enable high-quality output at scale
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- Master's Degree or equivalent AND 5+ years experience in learning and development, relevant technical roles, business development, quota management, human resources (HR), customer success, collection management, research/restoration evaluation, industry, program/project management, or corporate education OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent AND 7+ years experience in learning and development, relevant technical roles, business development, field or sales, HR, customer success, collection management, research/restoration evaluation, industry, program/project management, or corporate education OR equivalent experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications
- 10+ years of experience leading content strategy, experience design, or program delivery for large-scale, complex events within a global, matrixed environment
- Track record of designing and delivering high-quality content experiences across multi-day, multi-audience events, spanning both in-person and digital formats
- Experience in learning, skilling, or enablement, with a clear understanding of how content drives engagement, retention, and behavior change
- Ability to define content strategy and narrative frameworks that bring together inputs from multiple teams into a clear, unified experience
- Experience establishing content standards and governance at scale, paired with strong editorial judgment and the ability to prioritize and maintain a high bar for quality
- Ability to influence and align senior stakeholders across content, marketing, production, and business teams in a highly matrixed organization
- Experience partnering closely with production to translate content into effective live and digital formats, including flow, structure, and audience engagement
- Experience enabling and coaching a broad contributor base, building frameworks and tools that improve content quality and consistency at scale
- Data-informed mindset, with experience defining success metrics, interpreting engagement and learning data, and using insights to continuously improve content strategy
Integrated Learning & Skilling IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.
