As a High Tech Industry Azure Solution Specialist (SSP), you will drive Microsoft’s Azure growth with the most innovative and fast-scaling companies in the ASEAN region. This role requires a blend of deep Azure & AI technical expertise and strong business acumen — engaging with CTOs, CDOs, and engineering leaders to connect Azure’s technical capabilities with customer business outcomes.
Ideally you will come from a technical pre sales background and have experience across Azure, Open Source and other cloud technologies. A good understanding of the High Tech industry customer needs and AI landscape is critical to the success of this role.
Responsibilities
The High Tech Industry POD operates like a startup within an enterprise. The ideal candidate will thrive in an ambiguous environment, network to leverage the team around them and bring a get it done attitude for our customers.
- Lead Azure & AI commercial and technical discussions with customers using consultative sales methodology, demos, and programs to understand needs and showcase Microsoft solutions.
- Differentiate Azure from AWS/GCP/LLM model providers in technical discussions — demonstrating superior security, performance, cost optimization, and AI integration.
- Provide technical depth in cloud-native architectures (OSS, containers, Kubernetes, serverless), IaaS, Networking, Data platforms, LLM integration and application modernization.
- Develop a commercial and technical Azure strategy by mapping customer vision, resolving concerns, and building a strong business case for investment.
- Drive commercial propositions and technical assessments to create migration plans aligned with customer goals.
- Work with licencing and compliance teams to build complex value based deals.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- 6+ years of technology-related sales experience with strong technical engagement track record.
- Deep understanding of cloud computing platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) with the ability to whiteboard architectures and discuss technical trade-offs.
- Proven ability to influence technical and business decision-makers (CTO, VP R&D, CDO, Engineering leaders).
- Technical depth in one or more of the following:
• Cloud-native architectures (containers, Kubernetes, DevOps, GitHub).
• Data & AI (data platforms, analytics, machine learning, AI agents).
• Application modernization (serverless, microservices, app dev).
• Security & Compliance (identity, zero trust, confidential computing).
Additional or preferred qualifications
- Azure commercial & SKU compete experience is a plus
- Business Acumen: Ability to map Azure solutions to customer growth models, investor pressures, and time-to-market needs.
- Ecosystem Awareness: Strong knowledge of startup and ISV dynamics, enabling Microsoft to remain relevant in high-growth markets.
