Overview

As a Microsoft Senior Data Center IT Support Technician (SDCT), you will provide IT support for secure access workstations (SAWs) laptops, servers as well as conference rooms Audio/Visual(A/V). You will also maintain inventory of spare devices for the sites and make sure the latest updates and operating systems(OS) are installed on the devices.

Responsibilities
  • Building strong working relationships with people working within the data center and at corporate.
  • Providing general IT support including but not limited to laptops/desktops, device resets, 2FA, network printer fleet, label and rack printers, network issues, desk patching.
  • Providing guidance to users for common SAW repair issues and escalating issues experienced by users.
  • Onboarding (ordering & onboarding new devices)
  • Ensuring SAW devices are in a “healthy” state, meeting Security’s compliance standard.
  • Managing SAW inventory, including ordering, receiving, assigning/re-assigning, and decommissioning devices.
  • Managing, ordering, configuration and deployment of secured devices and storage to new sites.
  • Inventory management: Managing, maintaining and replenishing IT and digital equipment stock levels of preapproved items for use by campus staff.
  • Performing Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) for SAWs damaged within the first 30 days of receipt.
  • Receiving confidential information to perform BIOS setting changes.
  • Managing and maintaining digital signage system.
  • AV systems maintaining and troubleshooting.
  • Supporting the deployment of on-site DC physical infrastructure including Servers, NetDevices, SANs, Windows Server OS Support, Parts/Component replacement and physical hardware troubleshooting when needed.
  • Providing Senior Data center Technician-level support when needed. Responsibilities include performing power cycles, swap out failed components, handling storagemedia, and perform troubleshooting when needed. Also, performing cable installations, hardware rack / stack installations, testing, and troubleshooting using standard data center processes.
  • Assisting Data center Inventory and Asset Management Team with shipping/receiving and inventory management to address high work volumes as required.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Extensive experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Experience supporting enterprise IT hardware, including servers, storage, and network devices.
  • Experience with hardware installation, rack and stack, cabling, troubleshooting, and break/fix activities in a data centre environment.
  • Experience supporting physical infrastructure deployments and hardware lifecycle management.
  • Ability to follow security, compliance, and operational procedures.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and thrive in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to quickly comes up to speed and adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • This role requires you to be on-site and the location has limited public transport. Your own form of transport is advised.

Background Check Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

While not required, we also look for the following Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical College degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, or equivalent work experience
  • Applicable certifications: CompTIA, Microsoft, Network Certifications
  • Experience operating heavy-load movement equipment (pallet jacks, chassis lifts, etc.)
  • Perform and execute organization’s safety programs and policies, and compliance knowledge.
  • Flexibility to work non-business hours (shifts) that may include weekends and/or holidays.
  • Valid license to drive standard street-legal automatic transmission vehicles within your DC’s local jurisdiction.


Data Center Technicians ATR-D - The typical base pay range for this role across Spain is € 39,800.00 - € 55,400.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
