Microsoft’s Education Account Team focuses on empowering customers on their AI Transformation journey. This team is responsible for envisioning new possibilities for our customers in Higher Education, delivering solutions that result in targeted business outcomes and driving revenue growth for Microsoft.
As an Education Account Technology Strategist, you will have the opportunity to design and drive leading edge technology initiatives in partnership with your customers, both supporting your customers’ desired business outcomes and achieving Microsoft’s business objectives.
Paired with an Education Account Executive, leveraging your large, multi-functional virtual teams across the breadth of the Microsoft product portfolio and the vast catalog of Microsoft Partner offerings, you will build and grow your network of technology executives within your customers and bring industry-relevant solutions to help the customers adopt and embrace AI technologies. With a proven history of innovating technical solutions to achieve customers’ business objectives and achieving account growth targets, this role will give you the opportunity to combine your technology and industry knowledge to deliver on AI solutions to accelerate your customers’ AI vision and to ultimately become their trusted technology advisor.

Responsibilities
Customer AI and Security Strategy Leadership
- Document and articulate the customer’s business objectives, technology landscape, and AI and Security strategy.
Technology-Focused Trusted Advisor
- Drive Microsoft business growth, including partner co-sell motions and governance around consumption and intent to use.
Technology Leadership across Solution Areas
- Lead AI (including data and migration) and Security conversations across customer stakeholders, showcasing how they align to customer business priorities.
Industry Expertise
- Apply expertise in customer businesses, technology platforms, and industry trends to build AI strategies aligned to business outcomes. Engage customers in constructive dialogue to explore opportunities and new perspectives.
Synthesizes and combines various business and industry insights
- Synthesizes and combines insights from teams, global proven practices, experience-based proof points, regional examples, and deep industry expertise (e.g., level 200) related to customers and competitors to conduct forecasting and develop recommendations for account and subsidiary planning.
Provides Account Thought Leadership
- Provides account thought leadership inclusive of information technology (IT), business strategy knowledge, and technology landscape expertise. Shares proven approaches internally while enabling and supporting subsidiary resources. Leverages account thought leadership in partnership with account executives to set strategy, drive accountability for outcomes, and lead extended teams.
Acts as the Customer’s Technology Mentor
- Acts as the customer’s technology mentor by building trusted relationships with business executives and leaders within large-scale or high-impact customer organisations, including technical decision makers (TDMs) and business unit leaders at the C-suite level.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications (RQs)
Tertiary education qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 6+ years technical consulting, technical consultative selling, business consulting, practice building, or related technical/sales experience
OR equivalent experience.
