The Microsoft Infrastructure Engineering Services (IES) organization is transforming how critical business processes are delivered through next generation AI and agentic solutions. We are looking for a passionate Software Engineer to help design, build, and scale intelligent systems that automate complex workflows, improve employee experiences, and unlock productivity across Microsoft.

In this role, you will work at the intersection of software engineering, artificial intelligence, and enterprise business transformation. You will partner closely with product managers, data scientists, architects, and business stakeholders to build cutting edge agentic solutions that can reason, plan, and take actions across enterprise systems.

Responsibilities
  • You will architect, design, and develop large-scale AI-powered software platforms that improve operational efficiency, service reliability, and engineering productivity.
  • You will build intelligent software solutions leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic systems, orchestration frameworks, and enterprise data platforms to solve complex business and operational challenges.
  • You will design and implement scalable distributed systems, cloud-native services, APIs, MCPs,microservices, and event-driven architectures operating at enterprise scale.
  • You will develop AIOps capabilities including operational intelligence, anomaly detection, workflow automation, troubleshooting assistance, and automated remediation solutions.
  • You will build intelligent agents that automate business processes, employee experience, operations, compliance, procurement support, and knowledge management workflows.
  • You will create secure integrations with Microsoft and third-party services, enterprise systems, APIs, event platforms, and workflow solutions.
  • You will design agent orchestration services, execution frameworks, memory systems, observability tooling, and quality measurement capabilities that enable reliable AI-powered solutions.
  • You will partner with cross-functional teams to identify high-value automation opportunities and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • You will drive engineering excellence through architecture reviews, code reviews, automated testing, continuous integration, operational good practices, and reliability engineering.
  • You will partner with security, compliance, and governance teams to ensure AI-powered solutions meet enterprise standards and Responsible AI principles.
  • You will mentor engineers, contribute to technical leadership, architecture discussions, and strategic technology direction across the organization.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience building distributed systems, microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native applications.
  • Experience developing AI-powered software platforms using Large Language Models (LLMs), RAG,Agentic AI frameworks, and orchestration technologies.
  • Experience designing and implementing intelligent agents, multi-agent workflows, agent orchestration patterns, tool integrations, and automated business processes.
  • Experience with Azure AI technologies such as Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Semantic Kernel, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, or equivalent AI platforms.
  • Good understanding of software architecture, reliability engineering, observability, security, and operational excellence.
  • Proven ability to lead technical design discussions and deliver complex end-to-end solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related field.
  • Understanding of Responsible AI, compliance, privacy, governance, and enterprise security requirements.
  • Experience designing agent evaluation, observability, quality measurement, and reliability frameworks for AI-powered solutions.
  • Experience working with networking, infrastructure, telemetry, or large-scale operational systems.
  • Experience building enterprise-scale AIOps, operational intelligence, monitoring and observability.
