The mission of the Azure Native Integrations organization is to make Microsoft the best platform for agentic and application workloads for developers by enabling seamless integration of industry-leading partner solutions directly into the Azure and Foundry ecosystem.
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Azure Native Integrations team, you will help build and operate the foundational platforms and services that enable customers to discover, provision, and manage best-in-class Independent Software Vendor (ISV) offerings natively within Azure and Microsoft Foundry. Our platform delivers a unified Azure-native experience across identity, billing, provisioning, governance, and lifecycle management, making partner services feel like a natural extension of Azure through the portal, APIs, SDKs, and operational tooling.
The team partners with some of the world's leading enterprise technology providers across key domains including Data & Storage, Observability, Security, Networking, and AI. Our work spans partner onboarding platforms, provisioning and control-plane services, integration frameworks, and engineering platforms that enable rapid innovation while upholding the highest standards of reliability, security, and compliance.
In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and operation of critical platform services powering Azure Native Integrations. You will provide technical leadership, collaborate closely with engineers, architects, product managers, and strategic partners, and drive end-to-end execution across two important areas: the Azure Native Infrastructure Platform and Native Partner Integration Experiences for leading data ecosystem partners across Azure and Foundry.
As Azure continues to scale globally, you will work on mission-critical distributed systems that support millions of customer interactions. You will help improve developer and partner onboarding experiences, enhance platform reliability, respond to operational challenges, and evolve next-generation AI-powered capabilities that simplify and accelerate partner integration. Responsibilities
AI-Native Engineering: Leverage AI-assisted development tools across the SDLC to improve engineering productivity, code quality, and operational efficiency while ensuring accuracy, security, and maintainability.
Infrastructure Platform Development: Design, build, and operate scalable, secure, and resilient platform services that power Azure Native Integrations, partner onboarding, provisioning, lifecycle management, and governance.
Architecture & System Design: Drive technical design and architecture for distributed systems, ensuring solutions meet reliability, performance, scalability, disaster recovery, security, compliance, and cost-efficiency goals.
Engineering Excellence: Deliver high-quality code through strong design reviews, automated testing, observability, secure coding practices, and continuous improvement of developer productivity and platform quality.
Partner Integration Platform: Build and enhance Azure-native capabilities that enable seamless integration of strategic ISV solutions across Data, Storage, Security, Networking, and AI ecosystems.
Execution & Delivery: Own end-to-end delivery of platform capabilities, from planning and implementation to safe deployment, experimentation, validation, and production rollout.
Reliability & Operations: Improve service health through telemetry, monitoring, automation, incident response, root-cause analysis, and continuous investment in platform reliability and supportability.
Customer & Partner Impact: Collaborate with engineering teams, stakeholders, and ISV partners to reduce onboarding friction, accelerate integration velocity, and deliver exceptional Azure-native experiences.
Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership across cross-team initiatives, influence engineering direction, mentor peers, and drive innovation in Azure's partner ecosystem.
Qualifications
Required Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong hands‑on development in one or more programming languages such as C#, Java, Python.
Strong expertise in software design and development, including system architecture, data structures, algorithms, and designing scalable, reliable, and secure services.
Proven experience owning and delivering complex features or services end‑to‑end, from design through implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support.
Solid understanding of cloud‑based and distributed systems, including reliability, performance optimization, telemetry, diagnostics, and live site support considerations.
Ability to influence technical direction and mentor others, demonstrated through design leadership, code reviews, and collaboration across teams.
Experience applying secure coding practices and compliance requirements, ensuring solutions meet Microsoft’s security, privacy, and engineering quality standards.
Communicating to Drive Mutual Success: Articulating messaging in a clear and respectful manner to achieve collaborative and mutually beneficial outcomes while ensuring all parties are heard, understood, and aligned towards shared goals.
Designing and Architecting Business Solutions: Designing and architecting products, services, and systems by employing design principles across diverse technological solutions and guiding projects through each phase of the engineering lifecycle to ensure alignment with business goals and customer satisfaction.
Driving Solution Improvement and Excellence: Leading the validation of innovative products, services, and solutions through pinpointing opportunities for improvement, monitoring and testing systems, and fostering strategic solutions to identified challenges or issues.
Engineering Robust Software Solutions: Employing computer science principles to design, develop, and optimize scalable algorithms, distributed systems, business applications, and other software solutions.
Enhancing Product and Project Execution: Streamlining project lifecycles through the integration of project and product planning and quality assurance methods to ensure all phases of a project are planned, assessed, and aligned with strategic goals and to optimize performance and project outcomes.
Solving Problems Through a Data-Driven Approach: Extracting actionable insights to understand their implications within the broader organizational context; solving problems and making decisions through a swift, informed, and strategic approach.
Preferred qualification:
Advanced technical judgment and architectural capability, including ability to design, optimize, debug, refactor, and guide engineering decisions across features, systems, or services.
Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills, such as mentoring peers, influencing cross‑team architecture, and serving as a DRI to ensure reliability, performance, and operational excellence.
Good exposure to AI platforms, large language models (LLMs), and core machine‑learning concepts, with the ability to apply these in designing scalable, secure, and intelligent engineering solutions.
