Microsoft Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers Microsoft's cloud services and our team is focused on delivering high quality infrastructure to support cloud operations. As Microsoft’s Cloud business continues to mature, our infrastructure expansion accelerates, and Datacenters are central to this growth. To support this, the acquisition and development of our owned, designed and constructed Datacenter facilities will scale to meet the demands of our customers, while we also continue to lease and acquire Datacenter capacity at pace, particularly in our high growth markets, working closely with Datacenter and Network operators in each region, and across the Globe.



Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is responsible for planning, building and operating Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure datacenters across the globe. Within CO+I, the organizational scope includes supply planning and strategic acquisition, global construction, datacenter and edge site operations, critical environment and availability, engineering, and datacenter innovation. To help us accelerate achieving our objectives, growth and transformation, we are looking for a Business Manager to work in our Leasing team within the Lease and Land Development (LLD) organization, within CO+I. The role will work with our Leasing General Manager and team in driving the rhythm of the business, budget and Position Control Number (PCN) management, business programs, driving organizational initiatives, and business processes. This individual will work closely with the Director of Business Management in LLD and with the wider Business Management community in CO+I. This individual should have a blend of business management, program management and operations skills to be successful.

Responsibilities

  • Management and controls of budget, PCNs and recruiting processes within the Leasing team
  • Support the GM and Managers in the Leasing team in running the operations of the business, including requesting input from team members and collating weekly and monthly business review documents, reports, powerpoints (PPTs), whitepapers, team meetings, All Hands etc.
  • Manage and run the rhythm of the business (ROB) for the Leadership of the Leasing team
  • Identity programs that are required to drive long term business improvements within the Leasing team
  • Develop scoping documentation and engage leadership to approve program scope
  • Develop detailed program plans and timelines from program start to end
  • Manage large scale programs within the Leasing team
  • Manage virtual teams to deliver on programs driving significant impact without direct authority
  • Manage projects and processes driving measurable results to deliver business impact
  • Run and manage operational initiatives end to end
  • Identify and drive options to improve operational process improvements
  • Develop process flows and documentation to roll out across the team
  • Manage systematic documentation storage across the Leasing team
  • Develop reports and analyze data identifying insights and areas for improvement.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 4+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years demonstratable project management experience.
Other Requirements

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years (several years of) datacenter domain experience preferred
  • Microsoft experience is beneficial
  • Organization skills with demonstrated ability to be adaptable and resilient
  • Proactiveness and a positive outlook and approach to change management
  • Business acumen and mental agility to ramp quickly across our diverse business and offerings
  • Enjoy working under pressure and deadlines, be able to work independently, with an ability to manage complexity while driving clarity
  • Demonstrated capability in reporting, verbal and written communications skills across a geographically dispersed audience
  • Experience in managing virtual teams and driving impact without direct authority

Business Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 - $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 - $195,000 per year.
