CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide.

The Cloud Manufacturing Operations and Fulfillment (CMOF) organization within CSCP manages Business Operations performance and supply of hardware for the data centers. Well-defined and executed sourcing and supply chain management ensures reliable on-time performance, optimized cost, prevents urgent and unplanned investments, and provides accurate and timely information across the supply base and internally across the infrastructure organization. The role of Supply Chain Operations Manager is the key connecting link between our System Integrators (suppliers) and our Internal Team (Sourcing, Network Infrastructure Deployment, Capacity Planning, Component Material Planning and DC Operations) and responsible for managing the SI integration facilities from an execution perspective. Relying heavily on Customer Service fulfillment metrics and establishing key performance indicators (milestones, work-back schedules, Cycle time, commodity management and production throughput) this role will take a production scheduling factory focus view holding key internal Microsoft functions responsible for their deliverables to our supply base and hold our System Integrators (Suppliers) accountable for timely and defect-free server delivery, by driving proactive communication and root-causes resolution to problem areas.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be an individual contributor responsible for supporting the Supply Chain Operations Management processes and strategies across the Supply Chain Operations Management function of Microsoft’s Azure Cloud.

  • Supplier Integrator Facing Role: Act as the face of the Supply Chain Operations Management (SCOM) organization to our partners / Engineering Groups to understand customer requirement documents and develop/implement strategies in support of those business needs. Role will routinely interact with internal Sr. Management teams within the CSCP and Microsoft Business Groups.
  • Factory Operations metrics monitoring: Coordinate and Communicate internal and external messaging on changes to demand planning and build orders, Factory production planning, detailed updates and impact assessments. Responsible for factory level Engineering changes and cut overs, Material Readiness assessments, Demand and Build Order prioritization and supply allocation decisions.
  • High Focus on SCOM activities to help develop Supplier operational/ production processes and transform those processes into System Engineering tools, continuously focusing on automation of critical functions, resulting in on-time, defect free capacity to our customers.
  • Develop and drive Microsoft Internal and external key performance indicators and metrics. Including, SLA monitoring, Production Cycle Times, on-time delivery, lead-times, Factory capacity, product transitions, and risk analysis.
  • Achieve delivery performance targets as developed to support business needs, while consistently evaluating opportunities and supporting process updates to enhance supply chain performance.
  • Manage supply base engagement process, including supplier operational review meetings, metrics, improvement plans and issue resolution.
  • Manage and communicate tradeoffs between our supplier and business needs within Microsoft.
  • Responsible for managing continuous improvements and process initiatives in parallel to day-to-day business operations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 3+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience
  • OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 1+ year(s) supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience
  • OR equivalent experience

Other Qualifications

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Ops/Industrial /Manufacturing Engineering, Business, or related technology degree.
  • 7+ years technology-related supply chain, operations, supplier management, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience.
  • Expert Level in the use of MRP, Excel, Power Point.
  • Lean sigma black/green belt, PMP, Kaizen, CPIM/CSCP certification, or relevant project and process improvement experience preferred.
  • MS/MBA preferred.
  • Experience in operations management in IT / high-tech electronics or Manufacturing / Production Hardware Supply Chain.
  • Effective communication, problem solving skills - ability to manage competing priorities, set clear expectations, collaborate, identify objectives, develop, and deliver feedback in written, oral, and presentation formats for partner teams, and senior executive management.
  • Effective Project Management skills involving multiple global System Integrators and Internal partners. High comfort with handling multiple ongoing priorities and escalations. Dedicated customer-focus and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform complex data analysis to identify problems or opportunities to improve supply chain performance.
  • Skilled in Customer Relationship building, and Cross-functional collaboration opportunities.

Supply Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 - $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 - $195,000 per year.
