Microsoft’s Capacity, Supply Chain, and Provisioning (CSCP) organization is an exciting and fast evolving engineering group within Microsoft. Our mission is to deliver Capacity for all Cloud Services Predictably through Intelligent Systems driven by Continuous Learning and a World Class Organization . Our Digital Enablement Innovation team is looking to innovate our controls and analytics in managing the Supply Chain. Working in developing new applications for our data platform and Control Tower, whilst managing changes to data and processes. This will allow us to predictably deliver customer capacity on time while optimizing investments Microsoft is making into cloud services.

Responsibilities

The role is focused on developing our analytics and reporting capabilities for all aspects of the supply chain.

  • Develop analytics for all aspects of the supply chain, including Demand Planning; Supply Planning, Buffer Planning; Monitoring, and Cycle Time analytics.
  • Improve business results by creating compelling analyses and visualizations.
  • Break ambiguous and complex problems into manageable units.
  • Perform rich analysis and develop actionable insights using a variety of data sets.
  • Manage metrics, dashboards, and analytics that track the performance of the product capabilities against the goals and optimize the product functionality to drive the right performance.
  • Hands on mind set and willing to get involved in all aspects of product development.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 2+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis
    • OR Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field
    • OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in developing analytics for supply chain processes such as Demand Planning; Supply Planning, Buffer Planning, Capacity Planning, and Manufacturing Operations.
  • Experience with enterprise data models and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Experience in data mining, Extract, Transform & Load (ETL), and querying complex datasets.
  • Effective written communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in change within technology, business, operations and data.
  • Experience in data analysis skills with Excel and SQL.
  • Experience in programming in Python.
  • Experience in PowerBI, or equivalent.

Data Analytics IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $80,900 - $162,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $105,300 - $176,900 per year.
