Microsoft’s Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth. Our mission is to deliver the world’s computer with an industry-leading supply chain. CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide.

Within CSCP, we are the Cloud Capacity Planning (CCP) team, and our mission is to lead the world’s cloud experience through optimal, predictable, and connected planning. The team works with partners within CCP, CSCP, Finance and Azure Engineering to plan & execute the new technologies for scale and agility. We are seeking a Demand Planning Manager to join the team.

Responsibilities

  • Plan & manage the short-term network hardware demand plan to support server deployments.
  • Manage deployment related issues to unblock server capacity by working with cross functional teams; Resolve Daily Incident management issues.
  • Analyze & understand short-term demand plan variations and provide the ‘Plan Vs Actual’ feedback to the GPU demand planner to accurately preposition the hardware.
  • Reporting/Data Analysis - Pull data from multiple systems (SQL/Kusto) and provide insights, visualization - create reports using Power BI. Data analysis skills required.
  • Continuous process improvements /simplification; help define next generation planning processes and tools to scale Microsoft's cloud growth.
  • Be able to roll up sleeves and deep dive in detail; deal with the ambiguity associated with working in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Technical aptitude with good verbal communication skills and ability to influence business & technical decision makers; Self-starter and “can-do attitude.”

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, Information Technology (IT), Business, Operations, Finance, Accounting, Data Science, or related field AND 4+ years supply chain, inventory management or sales operations experience, preferably in planning (demand/supply/forecasting), cloud industry experience, infrastructure, data science, and/or channel management experience
  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of work experience in supply chain or capacity planning.
  • Master’s Degree equivalent in Business Administration, MS degree in engineering, supply chain (10+ years’ experience)
  • Knowledge or demonstrated experience with capacity planning and/or supply chain planning - High Tech Industry
  • Proven problem-solving skills, project management skills, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills
  • Great communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
  • Leadership: Leading cross-functional teams on complex projects with many variables.
  • Generating clarity: This is one of the most important aspects of what we do. Our job is to align everyone on the same plan and keep them there. This requires constant communication and diligence to squash any ambiguity.
  • Proficient at creating and analyzing business information and defining key business results/metrics with a proficiency in data tools such as Excel, SQL and PowerBI.

Demand Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 - $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 - $195,000 per year.
