We are in the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Microsoft Security is enabling defenders everywhere with unified Defender tools, Security Copilot and Defender Experts to enable customers secure themselves at machine speed.
Defender Experts is Microsoft's Managed Detection & Response (MDR) service that harnesses the power of Defender and new advanced LLM based tools like Security Copilot to help customers augment their Security operations, focus on threats that matter and get peace of mind with Microsoft experts triaging, investigating, hunting and responding to incidents on their behalf. We are seeking a Product Manager II to help expand Defender Experts' offerings to help our customers get and stay secure. You will partner with security, services, and engineering teams to create, scale, and deliver new features that are driven by innovation, quality, and reliability. The scale of Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity operations means that you will be partnering with a diverse, worldwide team ensuring that our solutions are best in class for the world.

Responsibilities
This Individual contributor role will require you to work across multiple teams with focus on following responsibilities:
Customer focus: In this role, the Product Manager (PM) will work with internal and external customers on understanding/anticipating their needs and identify differentiated integration & innovation opportunities to solve the problems and delight the customers.
Product Definition: The Product manager (PM) will convert customer requirements into crisp, prioritized product roadmap, backlog, specifications with clear objectives and key results to measure success.
Technical Excellence/Security Excellence: The Product Manager (PM) is responsible for working with engineering ensuring that the product truth is grounded in technical excellence. The PM will be expected to continuously identify opportunities for leveraging automation and AI at scale to help meet/exceed the scale, performance, security, reliability, operational efficiency goals for the service and business. Having deep understanding of the Security Operations Center's (SOC) operations and latest threat landscape will be key to create the right plans.
Data Driven Decisions: The Product Manager will be responsible for defining KPIs, ensuring every aspect of the service is instrumented and delve deep into the data to identify key insights and drive decisions based on them.
Collaboration: The Product Manager will identify and own problems and collaborate with partner teams to solve them. The PM will be expected to create an inclusive environment that brings a diverse set of ideas to the table to deliver innovative, high quality, timely solutions to the problems.
Operational Excellence: The Product Manager will work with each component team ensuring we have high confidence project plans and execution rhythm leadings to timely, high-quality delivery.

There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year.
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree AND 2+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in shipping Security Products, Managed services, Managed Detection & Response (MDR) services, Cloud services as a Product Manager.
- Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
- Hands on security experience as a Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst/Security engineer or related security role.
- An operational understanding of Microsoft Security technologies like defender, cloud technologies and modern security operation.
- Cross-team collaboration skills.
- Technical problem-solving skills and proven ability to learn and apply new LLM related technologies to solving unique problems.
- Data analytics skills and ability to drive data driven decisions.
- Experience being a customer advocate.
- Relentless drive for results.
- Written and oral communication skills.
- The ideal candidate will be deeply passionate about security, keeping customer safe and have a mix of deep security and product Management experience.
