Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence. The products our portfolio include Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Power BI. Within Azure Data, the messaging and real-time analytics team provides comprehensive solutions and a robust platform that enables users to ingest high granularity signals (real-time & observability) and complex data, converting those into a competitive advantage in real-time for both end users and modern applications.

The Azure Event Grid team is looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead the product strategy and development of new features to enable Internet of Things (IoT) device communication through MQTT protocol. The solutions you deliver will empower businesses in industries such as manufacturing, automotive, retail, finance and more, through the messaging infrastructure that forms the backbone of enterprise architectures, modern serverless application platforms and IoT solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Build product strategy and priorities for Azure Event Grid
  • Work closely with external and internal customers to understand their requirements and translate them into high quality specs
  • Inspire and drive engineering and operational excellence across the organization
  • Work in a cross functional and collaborative role spanning several teams such as product, UX design, engineering, marketing, sales, and support.
  • Partner with the marketing and business teams to identify target customers, value propositions, customer promises, and go-to-market strategies
  • Author the product documentation, samples/demos, and customer/field readiness material
  • Present and promote product at conferences, customer events, hackathons, and internal training events

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in defining the roadmap, strategy, and go-to-market plans for an enterprise-grade cloud product.
  • 3+ years experience in leading B2B customer engagements, product documentation, presentations and demos.
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 7+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience with MQTT protocol or other similar IoT technologies.
  • 2+ years experience in delivering cloud solutions for manufacturing and automotive industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and across disciplines as a contributor or leader.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communication.
Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
