Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Senior Program Manager to support the Infrastructure Planning and Acquisition (IPA) organization. CO+I is responsible for planning, building and operating Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure datacenters across the globe. The organizational scope includes demand and supply planning, business operations and strategic acquisition and prepositioning across land, power, and networking.
To help us accelerate our growth objectives and transformation, we are looking for a Senior Program Manager. As part of this organization, you will be part of a rapidly growing business, enable global impact, and drive strategic execution on our key initiatives. You will bring a background in program management, cloud technology, and strategic planning to drive the development and execution of initiatives that align with the organization's goals. Responsibilities
- Determines and leads process improvements to quickly scope insights. Ensures alignment between the customer, the market, internal stakeholders, and the goals of and strategy of Microsoft.
- Collaborates with others (e.g., Engineering, Marketing, Design) to ensure that they can satisfy customer requirements. Evaluates the opportunity to determine for greatest value to the business.
- Makes adjustments or course corrections when projects are not aligned to schedules or goals.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies to inform strategic decision-making.
- Collaborates with others to track, coordinate, and communicate end-to-end project schedules for multiple feature areas (e.g., product, service). Works with others to establish and monitor processes and helps hold stakeholders accountable for following the established schedule and processes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and leading initiatives from conception to completion.
- Synthesizes findings within workstream and identifies links to broader strategic efforts for content and external facing thought leadership. Carries out related reporting and exception management as required.
- Lead cross-functional v-teams to execute complex, multi-faceted programs and projects related to cloud infrastructure.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Candidates must meet Microsoft, customer and government security background screening requirements for this role. These requirements currently include, but may change, and are not limited to:
- Microsoft Cloud Screen Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Screen background check upon hire/transfer and every two years after that while in this role.
- Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- 1+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
