The primary responsibility of the Healthcare Sales Operations Manager is to help increase the productivity and effectiveness of the sales team by reducing friction in the sales process. As both a strategic and operational partner by providing insight, intelligence, best practices, and overall operational support to the Healthcare Sales teams you’ll be viewed as a strategic and operation business partner who also serves as a trusted advisor to the sales manager and as a liaison with other departments. In this role you assist with the forecast processing and support sales leadership in one or more regions of the North American Health & LIfe Sciences sales organization and will maintain relationships with field personnel to ensure timely, accurate, and prompt forecast submissions.

Responsibilities

Trusted Advisor’

  • Partner with the sales leadership as a trusted advisor, supporting the sales leaders in developing strategy and turning strategy into operational execution, maximizing sales coverage and leveraging the wider Health and Life Sciences team to enable sales.
  • Collaboratively develop sales strategy, improve coverage, have objective insight into sales productivity, and recommend strategic operational improvements.

Sales Performance

  • Leverage Sales Ops/Sales Finance to provide transparency on performance metrics; support sales managers in the quarterly cadence of sales performance reviews.
  • Identify and implement best practices and metrics for the sales teams to optimize and leverage team performance.
  • Drive regular, standardized reporting of Sales bookings and revenue activity and key productivity metrics to ensure Sales Managers have actionable information to drive business change.

Deal Support

  • Work closely between sales and global deal optimization team (GDOT) to promote effective, efficient deal workflow leveraging tools such as SFDC and recommending process changes to accelerate deal approval process.

Sales Planning

  • Bring to bear best practice sales coverage analysis, provide insight and recommendations on sales coverage improvement opportunities as sales/division seek to pursue strategic growth initiatives.
  • Participate in yearly review of sales territories including sales quota setting.

Forecasting

  • Drive and encourage sales discipline for accurate, consistent, and timely forecast submission based on disciplined use of the sales process and tools; drive evolution of process and tools to support market segment specific forecast.

Sales Incentive Plan

  • Provide input to the Sales Incentive Plan evolution.
  • Assist in the communication and understanding of the Sales Incentive Plan to the field.
  • Assist in issue resolution.
  • Support sales spiff programs by updating performance, reporting and communication to participants to drive success

Sales Tools & Productivity

  • Engage sales to identify and isolate barriers to sales productivity.
  • Support and lead cross-functional sales productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Leverage sales enablement teams and the wider sales operations team to provide tangible improvement in environment that supports sales (process, tools, reporting, selling tools, training, templates, lead reporting and assignment, etc.).

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, Finance, Sales, Accounting, Information Systems, Social Sciences or related field AND 5+ years' experience in sales operations, project management, analytics, compensation, sales performance analytics, finance/business analyst, process improvement, business development, consulting, finance, marketing, or a related field
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience working with Customer Relationships Management (CRM) tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, Finance, Sales, Accounting, Information Systems, Social Sciences, or related field AND 8+ years' experience in sales operations, project management, analytics, compensation, sales performance analytics, finance/business analyst, process improvement, business development, consulting, finance, marketing, or a related field
  • OR master's degree in business administration, Organizational Design, or related field.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to use data to break down problems and provide solutions
  • Proficient presentation and communication skills
  • Solid project management skills and ability to drive cross functional teams
  • Experience working with CRM tools Salesforce (SFDC) or Microsoft Sales Experience (MSX).

Sales Operations IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 - $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 - $195,000 per year.
