Microsoft Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers Microsoft's cloud services. CO+I is responsible for designing, building, and operating our unified global datacenters, managing the supply planning and capacity utilization of our unified infrastructure, and is responsible for all of the operations needed to run the physical infrastructure (including supply chain, hardware, power, security, and workflow teams).

We are looking for a Senior Supply Planner to join CO+I’s Datacenter Capacity Management (DCCM) team, who is responsible for ensuring that datacenter infrastructure capacity is available to support customer demand. DCCM creates the blueprint for datacenter (DC) capacity management to support Microsoft’s growth and ensure region health. DCCM owns the DC Supply report which facilitates strategic recommendations and decision making. DCCM sits at the nexus of multiple teams which come together to deliver great capacity experience to customers be it on Azure, M365, Xbox or AI Services. DCCM collaborates with numerous partner teams to define the processes and supporting tools required to support all the above.

Responsibilities

Datacenter Capacity Management (DCCM) is looking for a candidate that is an organized self-starter that’s grounded in supply chain management principles, values the benefits of collaboration, and has a track record of driving initiatives from thought to implementation. The candidate will work with a cross functional team and be responsible for DC Capacity Management within 0-3 years. They will be responsible for tracking capacity gap, drivers for supply & demand changes and work with multiple teams on mitigation plans.

The Candidate Will Be a Solution-oriented Leader That Has a Combination Of Deep Supply Chain Management Domain Expertise And An Analytical Mindset. Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Supply planning process and tool integrity
  • Mitigations to ensure continuity of supply within lead time
  • Single point of contact for a given region’s supply for both upstream and downstream stakeholders
  • Continuous process and tool improvement that enables digitization of the supply chain inventory and transactions
  • The ability to lead with purpose, create clarity, and drive a desire to engage with positive energy

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 7+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience
    • o OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 3+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience
    • o OR equivalent experience.
    • 5+ years of experience working with Technology, Cloud Services and/or Supply Chain management
    • Experience in forecasting, demand planning, supply planning, and Sales and Operations Planning
    • Demonstrated experience working with Cloud Infrastructure

    Other Requirements:

    These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with SQL queries, Python, Tableau, Power BI
    • Proficient with MS Office suite such as Excel and Power Point

    Supply Planning IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,200 - $194,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $142,200 - $213,200 per year.
