Azure Reliability team is a multidisciplinary engineering organization part of CXP dedicated to making, “Azure the safest and most reliable Cloud”.

Quality Strategy team, within CXP Azure Reliability, is dedicated to empowering Azure engineering to drive meaningful and impactful platform investments to enhance customer experience. Quality Strategy team is responsible for defining the quality roadmap, which centrally captures and surfaces quality investments, key priorities and targets, and underlying engineering commitments for all Microsoft Cloud services, enabling adoption and measure the outcomes.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager within the Quality Strategy team, your role is pivotal in defining metrics and models that measure customer experience on Azure in alignment with the investments outlined in the quality roadmap. These metrics serve as insightful guides for engineers and Azure quality leaders, shedding light on the correlation between our quality investments and the intended enhancement of customer experiences.

This role enables you to contribute to the understanding of complex Azure quality data into business signals for decision making and improved customer experience in Azure. It is an exciting opportunity to expand knowledge and skills in Azure engineering systems and data.

The role supports flexible work from home with occasional in office meetings.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Technical Program Manager for the Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory you will:

  • Designing efficient data models that enable data analysis for measuring quality experience on Azure.
  • Refining and defining KPIs from various data sources and correlating them.
  • Developing visual reports, KPI scorecards and dashboards using Power BI desktop
  • Analyzing data trends and patterns to identify insights that can drive business decisions.
  • Collaborating with Azure business and engineering teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Troubleshooting data-related issues and optimizing performance
  • Supporting ongoing engagements with stakeholders in Azure quality improvement by providing data expertise and running Proof of Concepts.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in data warehousing projects.
Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis,
    • OR product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
  • Experience in using AI technology
  • Experience in Programming languages such as Python, R, Java, Scala
  • Experience in Azure quality and reliability
  • Experience working on large and unfamiliar codebases (millions of lines of code)
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
