The Web Experiences Team (WebXT) builds comprehensive and engaging content, services, and platforms for consumers to access the information they need anywhere on any device and for enterprises to enhance their employee and customer experiences. The Capacity Planning & Operations (CPO) team manages the capacity planning, supply chain and delivery for all the capacity resources for WebXT. This is an energetic team with a startup atmosphere at Microsoft, where anything is possible.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager you are a key contributor of the CPO team, you will work with Finance partners, Engineering teams, and other peer capacity managers at Microsoft to establish a $B+ capacity plan for each fiscal year. The role will also manage day-to-day capacity prioritizing based on business ROI, and capacity delivery to various teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement server planning process using data/KPI and a long-term vision to achieve capacity optimizations through efficiencies.
  • Partner with Azure and Data Center planning teams to land server demand short term and long term as well as decommission schedules and plans.
  • Work with various engineering teams to assess capacity needs. Accountable for server capacity delivery
  • Assist on server performance issues with various engineering teams and rationalize workload performance.
  • Participate in server sku design with Hardware engineering team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 2+ years industry experience using data and metrics to make business decisions.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in cost management and understand P&L.
  • Drive change and influence without authority across groups.
  • Ability to frame problems, design solutions, alternatives, and product strategy.
  • Passion for technology, efficiency, quality, and customer experience.
  • Ability to adapt to new technology and go deep into new focus areas.
  • Experience in defining, measuring, innovating, and driving change in systems.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
