The Azure Edge & Platform Security Team is responsible for building foundational security capabilities in Windows and Linux that protect our customers’ data, identities, and the integrity of the operating system across Microsoft’s cloud, client devices, servers, Xbox, and more.

In today’s world customers need systems that are secure not just from the latest malware on the internet but also from sophisticated targeted attacks even at the hardware level. In order to meet this need we want to fundamentally change how these systems are secured at the silicon, firmware, and operating system level and with the help of cloud powered intelligence. As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will play a critical role to lead our security product planning on this front and to deliver the most secure, productive, and delightful personal computing experiences ever.

Responsibilities

  • Define end-to-end customer scenarios and requirements and lead your cross-discipline product area v-team to design innovative capabilities in our operating systems, Azure, and other adjacent products to delight customers.
  • Define product objectives and key results that measure effectiveness, customer impact, and quality; use these measures to continually reaffirm or adjust our product offering.
  • Gain trust and influence broad stakeholders including the involved engineering teams, contacts in partner teams, and industry partners.
  • Be a key liaison to customers, drive the development of robust listening systems, and use those insights to drive business and customer positively impacting changes over time.
  • Embody our culture and values.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in a technical program management or engineering role working on hardware, software, or services products
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 2+ years experience in one or more of the fields of operating system security, firmware security, or silicon security and design or related.
Other Requirements

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

  • Leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to drive results and influence positive outcomes.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • 1+ year(s) professional experience in a role responsible for developing code.
  • Master's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or other technical fields.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
