Microsoft’s Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Capacity, Supply Chain & Provisioning (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth. Our mission is to deliver the world’s computer with an industry-leading supply chain. CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide.

Within CSCP, we are part of the Cloud Supply Chain Strategy & Transformation team. We are looking for a Principal Product Manager who will be a supply chain thought leader and has significant leadership experience driving end-to-end supply chain transformation along with a product management background with a proven track record for developing and deploying supply chain systems and solutions in a hyperscale environment that enable the business to scale. The candidate should be a self-starter, highly team-oriented, tenacious, and focused on results. This is a highly collaborative role, where you will need to confidently work across the Microsoft Cloud Supply Chain and Azure Engineering organizations at all levels to drive key initiatives and strategic projects. This position is an individual contributor role and requires a hands-on experienced individual with a good balance of technical, business, and leadership competencies.

Responsibilities

  • This role will help strategize, build, scale and transform our end-to-end cloud supply chain capabilities in partnership with stakeholders across Cloud Engineering, Data Center and Cloud Supply Chain teams including product and engineering teams to drive the systems and capabilities strategies and roadmaps
  • Develop and drive the vision and future state capability roadmap with clear articulation of business impact, success metrics, and KPIs for capabilities supporting end-to-end supply chain strategy while ensuring synchronization cross-functionally with stakeholder teams
  • Aggregate requirements across different stakeholder groups and document the business requirements and process maps. Translate business requirements into a strategy for capability roadmap and/or systems solutions
  • As needed, develop and propose business case justifications for capital, program resources and technology investments . Work with engineering groups to define capabilities, schedules and resources needed
  • Manage project governance, including portfolio planning and prioritization for assigned functions within end-to-end supply chain. Build relationships, gain consensus, remove tension/roadblocks and focus on the solution

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in supply chain transformation strategies, major systems deployments and process reengineering.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or equivalent, Master's Degree
  • 10+ years of combined experience in Product management related to Cloud, Infrastructure, supply chain transformation in a hyper scale supply chain organization.
  • 5+ years people management experience
  • APICS/ASCM certifications or equivalent
  • Product management and executional excellence; be able to turn the vision into reality; lean/six-sigma exposure is preferred; Proven track record of impact delivery
  • Proven capabilities to drive positive business results through cross-group collaboration and partnerships
  • Effective communicator (written and verbal) with ability to create and deliver executive friendly communications on complex solutions
  • Ability to interact with diverse technical and non-technical groups spanning all organizational levels

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
