As Microsoft's cloud business continues to grow the ability to deploy new offerings and hardware infrastructure on time, in high volume with high quality and lowest cost is of paramount importance. To achieve this goal, the Hardware, Infrastructure Management, and Fundamentals Engineering (HIFE) team is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware. We are looking for seasoned engineers with a dedicated passion for customer focused solutions, insight and industry knowledge to envision and implement future technical solutions that will manage and optimize the Cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

As a Quality Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality performance of either products or suppliers. You will lead a team in collaborating with internal counterparts and suppliers to monitor performance, resolve technical issues, and drive technical process improvements. This includes enhancing quality and yield, process control, critical issue management, and risk analysis and reduction at both supplier side or data center. You will also be responsible for effectively communicating your team's deliverable to wider audiences and influencing other teams to achieve quality goals.

  • NPI Management: Lead a professional team to manage NPI builds and quality phase-gate deliverables throughout the engineering development lifecycle.
  • Quality Risk Management: Effectively manage quality risks by containing, mitigating, and resolving top-quality issues affecting global data centers.
  • Shift left management: Establish and maintain a close loop quality feedback mechanism in order to capture lessons learned and then push to early development phase to intercept issue.
  • Supplier Quality Strategy: Develop and implement a robust supplier quality management strategy to ensure the highest quality standards in data center hardware manufacturing.
  • Continuous Supply: Collaborate with the supply chain team to establish and maintain the best supplier quality management strategy for continuous supply and support increased capacity and improvements.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Strong leadership in team build up and management. Minimum of 5 years team manager role.
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct engineering experience in PCBA hardware issue solving.
  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in managing manufacturing quality in the electronic industry.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams and drive a call to action.
  • Deep understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action methods to identify contributing factors of production defects.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets, extract key insights, and effectively present and communicate the results.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.

Preferred

  • Master's degree in Electronics (preferred).
  • 10+ years of working experience in the electronics industry or supplier quality for the cloud server industry.
  • Familiarity with data center environments, including infrastructure, networking, power distribution, and repair processes and procedures.
