As a Director, Business Program Management, Consumer, Learning & People Operations, you will be leading the team that drives impact and enables success of the Consumer Sales Organization through compelling learning initiatives and empowering people operations. This opportunity will allow you to build on your consumer business acumen, lead a team of professionals that empower the teams who drive direct, and thru partner go to market (GTM) motions, and strategize for the skills needed in the future to stay competitive in the fast-paced consumer business!

The Director, Business Program Management, Consumer, Learning & People Operations role is accountable for learning and people operations strategy including owning a learning management system, sales compensation and compensable metrics, headcount management, role excellence, new hire onboarding, required trainings, and other change management and integration projects. Also, the role drives impact by planning, designing, and delivering predictable and measurable solutions for selected programs that support the Consumer Sales Organization team members, and helps scale execution and simplification that result in CSO and Microsoft achieving their purpose and business objectives.

This role is flexible in that you can work up to 100% from home.

Responsibilities

Working in a global sales and marketing organization at the intersection of customers, hardware partners, and channel partners, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape business programs and strategies that have global impact.

People Management

Learning

  • Drive continuous learning culture in CSO by communicating and evangelizing L&D opportunities and programs
  • Drive engagement for CSO learning strategy around focused learning areas (Copilot and AI, Sales Capabilities, and core professional skills)
  • Own the learning experience for CSO and how it’s brought to life through CSO Learning Days, CSO Academy and other key learning moments, and represent learning for CSO People Plan pillars
  • Own CSO Academy as the one stop shop for learning for CSO FTEs and how they can build skills and support their career development plans, and the future vision of CSO Academy
  • Partner with Gaming integration project on bringing the limited integration employees into the CSO learning plans and experiences

Sales Compensation

  • Own seller incentive programs and strategy for CSO from taxonomy to plan design to Employee Data Management to special incentive programs like sales contests
  • Own the non-P&L compensable metrics data and insights process for quota and reporting, and drive quota process for sellers in partnership with Finance and WWIC
  • Own engagement with WWIC to support consumer sales incentive plans, processes and reporting

People Operations

  • Own CSO employee role strategy and taxonomy, and creating clarity through Role Excellence and taxonomy north star
  • Drive the workforce planning process for CSO to ensure the team has the right roles, skills and capabilities to enable meeting and exceeding business goals
  • Plan and monitor the headcount management process in partnership with Finance and HR by owning the role and taxonomy views into headcount
  • Drive organizational readiness initiatives for CSO from required training completion reporting to new hire onboarding and other similar initiatives

Change Management and Integration

  • Support CSO Leadership team with change management projects and initiatives with project management tasks
  • Drive integration activities and strategy for role clarity, taxonomy and excellence to ensure optimal ways of working as a limited integration organization
  • Partner with the Integration Management Team, HR, and other business partners to create the experience for our people to drive the right business outcomes

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 8+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement
    • OR equivalent experience
  • 6+ years management (e.g., people, project, process, vendor, change) experience
  • Experience in people operations strategy including owning a learning management system, sales compensation/compensable metrics, headcount management, role excellence, new hire onboarding, required trainings, and other change management or integration or larger initiatives/projects
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 12+ years experience in program management , process management, process improvement
    • OR Master's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 10+ years program management experience, process management, process improvement
    • OR equivalent experience
  • 8+ years people management experience
  • Proven skills in learning, sales compensation, program management, project management, and change management.
  • Proven experience in leading a high-performing team of professionals across various fields of expertise.
  • Proven conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and coordinate across diverse groups and levels within the organization
  • Established success in relationship management, fostering trust and confidence among stakeholders, and influencing decisions throughout the organization in various contexts
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, planning and organizational abilities
  • Highly analytical - ability to understand business metrics, customer, and market trends
  • Ambitious, self-starter, thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, effectively manages priorities
  • Confident with an ability to work and build relationships with managers, willing to take on big challenges, advocate a position, build a business case, and influence others
  • Interpersonal and conflict resolutions skills that include cross-group collaboration skills to successfully and independently work across many teams and functions
  • A person of integrity, capable of effective judgement and decision-making skills, showing the utmost discretion in the management of confidential corporate information
  • Effective understanding of Microsoft’s strategy, product, and service offerings, as well as company culture
  • Desirable qualifications include formal training in project and process management, financial accounting, business strategy and operations and/or internal controls
  • MBA preferred
Business Program Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $273,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $299,400 per year.
