The Industry Solutions sales team are looking for Services Solution Specialist Professional (SSSP) with a passion for developing and winning market-making opportunities that deliver customer value and enable transformational business outcomes for our customers in the Retail and Consumer Goods Industry.

The focus of the Consulting Services Solution Area Specialist Retail and Consumer Goods is to drive and close Azure and other Solution Area Consulting opportunities within the Retail and Consumer Goods Industry.

As an experienced Consulting Services Solution Area Specialist this role will give you the opportunity to accelerate your career growth, growing your solution area expertise, developing leads, qualification of strategic opportunities and ownership through to successful deal closure, leveraging cutting edge solutions for the biggest Retail and Consumer Goods customers that grow cloud consumption.

Responsibilities

  • Sales and technical acumen in Microsoft technologies, with focus on Azure, Cloud Migrations and Infrastructure. Additionally, has 100-200 level depth of knowledge, re: Data & Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security and Business Applications.
  • Role modelling and demonstrating customer and partner obsession through customer business outcomes leveraging solution area experience.
  • Providing an impactful point of view (POV) where Industry Solutions (IS) can accelerate consumption, aligned to solution area experience into Account planning cycles.
  • Accelerating Cloud growth: Working seamlessly with the wider account team, building and strengthening relationships across the Microsoft teams to drive consumption through Industry Solutions projects and programs.
  • Continuously building sales experience, learning and evolving Industry and solution knowledge to support customers and the wider one Microsoft team and investing in personal development.
  • Deal excellence: Championing and adhering to Microsoft processes and methodologies, on strategy selling, pipeline hygiene, logging and maintaining all opportunities (revenue and consumption) for Industry Solutions opportunities, continuous qualification, Opportunity Review Board (ORB) submissions, close plan ownership.

Sales Execution

  • Has sales and technical acumen in Microsoft technologies, with focus on Azure, Cloud Migrations and Infrastructure. Additionally, has 100-200 level depth of knowledge, re: Data & Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security and Business Applications.
  • Qualify, sell, and close Retail and Consumer Goods opportunities, using Services solutions assets and repeatable, packaged offerings wherever possible
  • Identify key industry-specific partners to enable solutions specific to Retail and Consumer Goods
  • Engages in conversations with customers aligned to their industry to introduce how other workloads could enable digital transformation areas that is aligned with the customer's industry and turns opportunities into deals. Initiates conversations with customers on digital transformation in one or more solution areas, in collaboration with partners and services. Creates guiding examples of digital transformation through seminars, workshops, webinars, and direct engagement.
  • Collaborates with team members to discover new opportunities. Drives incremental revenue growth through personal campaigns (e.g., portfolio analysis) or internal sources (e.g., Marketing). Collaborates with account teams, partners, or services to track and qualify new opportunities. Collaborates with other teams (e.g., account teams) and services to build pipeline. Interfaces with customers and builds relationships via social selling. Applies Microsoft's sales process (MSP) to determine the quality of the opportunity and whether to proceed.
  • Identifies opportunities to drive consumption and grow business with existing customers by initiating conversations, providing demos or quotes, and collaborating with partners or internal teams (e.g., Technical Sales Professionals, Global Black Belts. For licensing transactions and project engagements, ensures rapid and robust deployment plan at point of sale that is validated by services and partners.
  • Identifies customer business needs and technology readiness. Contributes to the development of solutions in collaboration with internal teams, partners, and services. Proposes prioritized solutions that align with customers' needs. Articulates the business value of proposed solutions.
  • Proactively builds external stakeholders' mapping. Collaborates with account teams (e.g., Account Executives) to identify and engage senior business subject matter decision makers at the customer's/partner's business.
  • Implements strategies to accelerate the closing of deals. Contributes input on strategies to drive and close prioritized opportunities. Coaches less experienced team members in deal plan execution. Implements close plans (e.g., how to map timeline, engage the customer, get customer buy-in and commitment) to de-risk and drive predictable deal closure.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years technology-related sales or account management experience
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field AND 4+ years technology-related sales or account management experience.
  • Proven track record of sales of enterprise-wise Cloud Infrastructure products/solutions/Services, Azure Preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years technology-related sales or account management experience
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, or related field AND 6+ years technology-related sales or account management experience
  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration (i.e., MBA), Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technology-related sales or account management experience.
  • 4+ years solution or services sales experience.

Solution Area Specialists IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,100 - $185,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $144,000 - $203,500 per year.
