Join our dynamic Event Production & Studios Team (within the Microsoft Global Demand Center). The team is responsible for delivering impactful events and media projects which bring our Microsoft story to life, inspire brand love, foster customer engagement and drive sales. Our diverse event portfolio includes Microsoft Ignite, Microsoft Build, World Economic Forum, Microsoft AI Tour, Leadership Summit, National Retail Federation (NRF), CEO Summit, and more. These first- and third-party events range from intimate invite only summits to large-scale productions, covering various audience compositions, event formats, modalities, and complexities.

We are looking for an experienced people manager to lead and inspire a team of skilled senior-level event directors. The Director, Corporate Event Marketing Manager role requires a methodical thinker with a passion for corporate events and ability to drive successful event execution from concept to completion. Your team will spearhead cross-company planning efforts to execute a variety of corporate events for both internal and external audiences. A successful candidate will have an executive presence, and ability to influence and inspire stakeholders at all levels in the organization and across the company. Your ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams will be key to your success.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of event directors through the application of our management philosophy of Model, Coach, and Care. Foster a diverse and inclusive work environment that values contributions of all team members.
  • Develop the team in both functional and soft skills needed to deliver event project management across multiple projects in a fiscal year.
  • Guide and coach each event director in successfully leading their v-teams to achieve event objectives and execute against the plans.
  • Collaborate with Event Marketing Team Manager to develop synergies across the complete team of event directors to increase the team’s agility and efficacy; event assignments, sharing of learnings, evolving planning processes, templates, workback schedules, and overall event planning rhythm.
  • Oversee the process, development, and delivering clearly written Strategic Event Briefs for each event to outline objectives, targeted audience(s), and high-level event experience.
  • Work across marketing stakeholders in the development of the commercial event marketing framework.
  • Partner with cross company stakeholders to align on intended business impact, event strategy, audience targets and success metrics.
  • Demonstrate excellent executive communication skills, including the ability to present complex ideas clearly and concisely to senior leadership and stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project status and key insights.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in corporate event marketing and working on digital and in person events.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years working specifically in corporate events planning for large corporations (either directly or through an agency).
  • 4+ years project management experience
  • 2+ years people management experience.
Additional Or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Liberal Arts, Performing Arts, or related field AND 10+ years business to business, business to consumer, enterprise technology, digital, or experiential/event marketing experience in the technology industry
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years marketing experience in a large multinational organization or creative/media agency.
  • 5+ years people management experience.
Events M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $248,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $268,900 per year.
