The Xbox Planning & Insights team sits at the epicenter of Xbox’s transformation and acceleration, managing the business today while building for the future, in close partnership with the Xbox Leadership Team. We are looking for a talented, experienced, and motivated to help build a new discipline focused on optimizing Xbox across lines of business, incubating new and disruptive business models, shaping and defining the player insights and taxonomy that inform our products and investments, facilitating broad organizational alignment, and connecting our player insights to our investments to our performance.

The Director of Xbox Planning & Insights will play a critical role in accelerating Xbox’s growth and realizing our vision for the future of gaming. This is a visible leadership role requiring strong quantitative analytical skills, financial literacy, the ability to frame complicated business questions and drive them to resolution, a willingness to collaborate broadly across disciplines, executive acumen, and effective written and oral communications skills. A curious mindset is fundamental.

Responsibilities

This role will:

  • Partner with Research and Data Science to develop a comprehensive perspective on player behaviors and motivations, to inform product development and marketing investments.
  • Evaluate & incubate new business opportunities, in close collaboration with Product, Finance, Marketing, etc.
  • Accelerate Xbox business growth by optimizing across lines of business, efficiently allocating capital investments, and aligning the business roadmap with Product & Brand.

Business Model Execution

  • Drives cross-organizational alignment for optimal plan across the Xbox portfolio, collaborating with the Xbox Leadership team and key senior leaders in Product, Finance, Planning, Marketing, and more. Delivers short and long term business roadmap to ensure success execution of the plan.
  • Foster organizational alignment to drive accelerated change by connecting player insights to product and marketing investments and the Xbox-wide metrics used to measure the success of those investments, executed in partnership with Data Science and Finance.

Insights and Analysis

  • Lead projects or programs that are synthesizing data (e.g., pricing research, economic analysis) to inform business decisions for the team and drive results across the company. Identifies analyses and insights needed to make the decision to move the business forward. Guides the team on cross-thinking insights from prior experience and the market, other teams, etc. Communicates results with senior leaders in a synthesized manner for products or across products or services.

  • Directs cross-functional virtual teams. Collaborates with a variety of teams across organizations as a trusted advisor with senior leaders, including Vice Presidents. Ensures all voices are heard in collaborative efforts. Effectively partners with Vice Presidents and others by asking questions to open other possibilities.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, in gaming, planning, or related experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
Additional Or Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development in gaming, planning or related experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, Economics, Business, or related field
    • OR 8+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), or related field
    • OR equivalent experience.
Business Planning IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $248,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $268,900 per year.
