We are looking for a Software Engineer III with a background in backend development to contribute to developing and enhancing our platform to ensure its stability, scalability, and performance. Our team works primarily in Ruby, TypeScript (React) and Golang programming languages and maintains data storage solutions based on SQL and No-SQL databases. We utilize observability and alerting tools such as Splunk, DataDog, and PagerDuty.

Responsibilities

- Have a real impact by taking ownership of GitHub.com and contributing to the codebase from day one.
- Grow your technical skills and learn about other technology stacks and disciplines.
- Write, review, and maintain code primarily in Ruby, Golang, and TypeScript (React).
- Design and implement data storage solutions on SQL and No-SQL databases.
- Conduct post-mortem analyses to drive continuous improvement in our systems and processes and collaborate with the team to address scalability issues, optimize system performance, and improve reliability.
Required
- Extensive experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience maintaining and delivering production software languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, JavaScript, Go, Ruby,Rust, or Python
- A degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Math, Physics or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with a remote, distributed team.
- Hands-on experience with modern web stacks (e.g., Rails, Go, React, MySQL, GraphQL).
- Data analytics skills and experience with observability and monitoring tools (e.g. DataDog, Splunk, Sentry, VividCortex, etc.)
