Our team is looking for a Director, Cross-Industry Product Marketing Manager, to drive communications and industry insight, connecting across marketing and engineering. We are looking for a growth-mindset marketer, who also has an interest in the intersection of marketing and technology. This role will focus on crafting compelling cross-industry narratives, driving market insights, and staying ahead of competitive trends. You will work cross-functionally to develop and execute storytelling strategies, cross-industry initiatives, and research-driven insights. Additionally, you will be responsible for executive communications and steering global industry strategy updates.

This role is flexible in that you can work up to 100% from home. This role is in the United States. Relocation assistance is not provided.

You will help to envision, brief, and collaborate with our Industry marketing leaders. In this role, you will use your marketing expertise to help identify where we have opportunities to drive improvements and/or innovation. In this role, you will exhibit familiarity with all our industry verticals, launch and disclosure plans, and how we partner and lead initiatives to improve operational execution.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in business
    • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 4+ years experience in business
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years direct people management experience or indirect people management experience (or virtual teams).
  • 2+ years of experience working in industry related marketing.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 12+ years experience in business
    • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years marketing or sales experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years people management experience.
  • Proven experience as a storyteller in the technical space, with deep insights and knowledge of AI technologies.
  • Solid understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging trends in the retail industry
  • Proven track record for growing new businesses and building solid cross-company relationships with multi-disciplined stakeholders and executives.
  • Leadership skills and community building thrive working across highly matrixed organizational boundaries with ability to influence decision makers
  • Results-driven experience and can prioritize and manage multiple projects, effectively driving to measurable results.
  • Ability to work independently in ambiguous and changing environments, along with partnering skills.
  • Skilled in presenting insights in a concise, effective and influential manner to a variety of audiences, including executives, customers, media and industry analysts on a regular basis.
  • Track record for building and landing audience-minded content that drives desired outcomes via modern mediums.
  • Ability to deeply assess the competition and drive perception-shifting efforts that differentiate Microsoft in credible, compelling ways.

Product Marketing M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $248,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $268,900 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Work across the company to develop compelling value propositions and creative ways to effectively communicate them. Deliver our story directly, and via spokespeople, to engage customers and influentials.
  • Parter with stakeholders across Marketing, Engineering, Sales and Partners to define new patterns and use cases to be repeated across industries.
  • Create and maintain internal strategy documents for the organization aligned to the Industry Marketing priorities.
  • Deliver industry fact packs inclusive of landscape intelligence by industry, Total Addressable Market (TAM) by industry and third party (3P) insights.
  • Work with teams across Microsoft to evangelize industry solutions, capabilities and offerings
  • Collaborate with our team to develop partnerships and orchestrate efforts to lead and deliver differentiated customer value and company growth.
